kinda part 2 of spending the rest of my xmas $$$. so i went back to the mall mainly cuz i had to get a calendar for giggles. (and giggles-i'll be sending that once i package it up...i got the supplies...just need to bubble wrap it & put the brown paper over it.) so i didn't go in the bookstore cuz i'm waiting for things to get REALLY cheap-60% or 75% would be nicer than 40%. ;} and they'll be open til mid-january, so anything is possible. just gotta dig...and that takes some time. i feel lucky i got the books i did (i also got 2 more that day, but didn't post 'em...and those were also great deals!). i think i'm going to write about one i got soon...cuz it's very informative & interesting. but that's another story...(meaning: another post!)
anywhoo, FYE is going out of business as well. what's up with my mall & things closing? but i don't mind about FYE leaving cuz i buy most cd's, dvd's, books, etc...on amazon. part of the reasons is FYE is a freakin' rip off. they charge SO much...for everything! cd's & dvd's are ridiculous! seriously! and their selection of music pretty much sucks...unless you want teeny-bopper crap. ugh! but they did have a couple interesting things...(one thing is Joker-related but i didn't get it, but plan on it...later post!)
SO...they had a Pixies DVD. wow, something good! it's of them playing a bunch of songs all acoustic at a festival. and The Pixies are my all-time fave band...and i never heard of that DVD even being out, so for 9.99 & then 25% off, it came to 7.49, not bad...and it's almost 2 hours too! and i also got a Domo 'energy drink.' it's so cool. it really didn't have much sugar/caffeine either (didn't drink it)...i really got it for the packaging. EVE LOVE DOMO! ha ha. well, he's so adorable, even if he has an angry expression! and his drink was on sale too.:)
so anyways, i watched a lil' of the DVD tonight & it's awesome! i wondered how could this band ROCK IT OUT all on acoustics??? (even Kim Deal had an acoustic bass, which i didn't even know what one looked like before-it's pretty HUGE too. yikes! she's a brave woman!) but they really were fantastic from the several songs i watched. i mainly wondered how they would sound since Joey Santiago (lead guitarist) makes the craziest sounds come from his electric guitar. but he did a great job...and i even watched one of the last songs & Frank Black (singer/guitarist/lyricist) asked "how are your fingers joe?" so you know it must have been a bit difficult! this proves to me once again why this group will always be my #1 band. everything they do magically turns to gold!!! =}
off subject but still on the subject of The Pixies...i don't have any tattoos...and idk how to feel about getting bands/artists tats but i think i'll like this band no matter what...and meeting Kim Deal was wonderful many years back. she's my rock-n-roll Goddess & she was so sweet when we chatted. so i have nothing but great memories of this band. so the pic above (The Pixies symbol) would be something i would REALLY consider getting a tattoo of one day. & prob not too big & prob without the circle. it's just been something i've always thought about IF i ever decided on anything. (it's one of my several ideas...the others being my pisces symbol, hello kitty, day of the dead skulls/skeletons, & planet symbols.)
*dear curious ones~do U have any band tattoos or tats in general you'd like to share w/me? i'm always curious about 'em. or even ones you'd like to have but don't yet (like me!)???*

1 Curious people had this to say...:
It's not your mall. It's the whole freakin' country, unfortunately.
You got a super good deal! You are quite the bargain shopper!
