one thing always leads to another. first there was myspace, made an account over 3 years back. i really liked it for a while, even though i didn't know how to make layouts too well, etc...i talked to friends quite often on there & even made "friends" w/peeps from all over the place-as far as New Zealand even! then over time, i learned how to do my layout, etc...and was constantly 'adding/changing' things. then over the course of about 6 months, i began to grow tired of myspace mainly for these 2 reasons: 1) i didn't talk w/friends much anymore 2) it just seemed to always be about the drama in peeps lives & i was getting both annoyed & bored with that (attitudes always seemed negative).
so one day while looking for a hello kitty item, i stumbled on to a website called Hello Kitty Junkies. and it's exactly what it sounds like. i joined in september 2008 but within a week, i felt like i had been there for years-which was a good thing. people were so different there-more caring, kind, and mostly interested in what you'd say, be it about HK or life in general. and yay, barely any drama!
then around the end of november, a fellow junkie i chatted with told me to check out her blogger. i never heard of it before so i checked it out. i thought it was cool and didn't have any intention to make my own. then one night i couldn't fall asleep, so i created a blogger just for the heck of it (and out of boredom/something to make me tired). i really liked the idea of journaling online (i soon discovered).
and since i have kept a journal pretty consistently since i was about 15-though haven't been writing much for the past 2 years in one-i thought that THIS may be a better way to journal (and more interesting way) than to try keeping up in notebooks. so i decided to try keeping it up on Blogger. i really enjoyed it here because writing is something i've always really liked. as well as sharing various things like interesting films, music, people, and just issues in general in my life...if i'm sad, angry, confused, happy, excited, & curious of course. =]
so december is almost over & once again it feels like Blogger was destined to be one of my online homes. MySpace time is very limited now...i jump on & off pretty quickly. i don't think i've changed my layout since i joined HKJ in september! and i still go to Hello Kitty Junkies, but just not as much or stay on as long as i use to. i mean Kitty is the MAIN focus of course...so i feel much more at ease on my Looking-Glass Blogger to write about whatever is going on in my life...even if some Kitty is thrown in there at times.;}
and it's kinda funny how luna recruited me (on blogger) & then cyndy & bex soon joined too (all of us from HKJ). and i think they feel pretty similar to me when i say that Hello Kitty Junkies is for kitty (mainly) and blogger is for, well pretty much anything goes here...and that's a nice feeling to not feel restricted or odd for what you're about to post. and that's why i'm loving it lots here. and when peeps comment, that's also a very nice feeling. they may understand & it makes me feel that i'm not alone on whatever i'm feeling at the moment. didn't really feel that way on MySpace. idk, again it just was ALL about drama, and it's gets tiring.
really i thought when i started my blogger that it'd just be a little here & there but now i feel very dedicated to it...even if i only write one post a day (but if you know me, that's very rare! ha.). plus i like trying to make my site unique & pretty, and something that i think says ME. so it's called Through Eve's Looking-Glass.
i'm sure you're all familiar w/Alice In Wonderland, and Through the Looking-Glass is the 2nd (very overlooked) book. my title basically means what you would see through my looking-glass (mirror)/eyes. which is what all of our blogs are basically about, right?! and i try to keep the Alice/Looking-Glass themes of being curious (like Alice) because i feel like her lots of times because i find many things very curious.
i just love learning about new things. and about the mind in general. that too, is a very curious thing. I mainly ask YOU "are you curious?" w/my blog...even if it's just about a film, person, life situation, etc...also i wonder "what's in your "looking-glass"?" if it's nothing but the truth then i'm curious about you too. that's the kinda blogs i enjoy the most.;}
Always stay curious & truthful...& things will always be good for you.
