Power Outage! Oh Great! =[

hi peeps. i'm at my parent's house right now cuz we have no power at our house.:( woke up this morning and mike & joe were still asleep & i noticed my alarm clock was off...then the computer...then the heat wasn't kicking on. soooo, basically the very strong winds here in detroit have knocked out the power throughout some of the suburbs. so i hope by the time i get home, which will be probably after 6pm, the power will be back. (*crosses fingers*)

OMG, it felt really weird with no tv, no radio, no computer. and no heat really sucked (although today wasn't too cold) but still it was chilly in the house. wow, it's times like these that you really wonder "how did peeps in the olden days live w/no electricity?" it truly amazes me. so we just ate at IHOP, yay-an excuse to go, and then went to target for some things we forgot to get yesterday. HK xmas $1 items are half-off, woo hoo, got about $4 worth cuz i do have a decent amount from when i 1st saw it...not to mention grabbing a pen or bag here & there over the past couple of months. but for half-off (and not knowing if they'll have HK xmas $1 items next year) it's worth a few bucks.;]

i just want that darn power back on because i've convinced mike to watch the Joy Division documentary w/me. he got me Control for Xmas, which i already saw but he didn't, so i told him if he watched the doc, he don't HAVE to watch Control...because the doc is really good & as i said yesterday, much more informative. o.k. wish that my power comes back on TODAY. it's going to be weird sitting around w/candles in the dark later if not. this is the 1st power outage i've experienced while living at this house (been there for 2 years now).

i remember when the big ol' blackout happened about 5 years back...remember that anyone? that was AWFUL. it went from new york to various other states around there, as well as here in michigan. that seemed like chaos. wow, that was one of the craziest things i ever experienced. hope nothing like that ever happens again.

UPDATE: came home around 7pm and the power was back on. thank God. couldn't imagine hanging here with no power & it was very cold when we got in...so that wouldn't have been too nice to sleep in the cold. so thank goodness!
