Need!

Need! To get out of this town. Atleast for a little bit. Any of these places {pictures} will do! Ok, not likely, but I can dream. Feels like I'm going a little stir crazy. Ever get that feeling? That you've been in the same place, the same situation(s) too long...and that ya just want a little break? It's kinda terrible...the fact that I live in a state surrounded by water but it's been so (insanely) long since I've been to a river, lake, anything. >_<

My friend and I were thinking of taking a vacation this summer. Then I said Hm, maybe next year. But now I'm thinking Nope, the sooner, the better! A big part is I really haven't traveled anywhere in the US...with the exception of some of the states below Michigan. {And Canada several times, but well, they are closer than a state to travel to!} Terrible, I know!

The biggest (and most extravagant) trip I went on was many (many!) years ago. After I graduated high school, I went on a school trip to Paris & Madrid. I had taken four years of French but that didn't mean anything when you actually got there. I think it was for 10 days...but wow, the time flew. Probably because of the plane and then we took a train overnight to Spain as well. So maybe about a week in Europe. But hey, I'm not complaining. Yet, I didn't appreciate it the way I would now, I'm sure. Mainly because at that time I wasn't making art and I didn't really like many artists...or know much about them.

I remember the Louvre, and how the Mona Lisa was so small. And behind this huge barricade of glass. The Eiffel Tower...and the gypsies trying to scam us! The Opera House. Walking on the Champs Elysees. Being on a tour boat really late at night while it was pouring...but we were just so happy to be there that we didn't care. Versailles was amazing but (of course!) my camera ran out of film there. See how bad that's dating it (pre-digital cameras, yikes!).

When our group was in Spain we took a day trip to Toledo too. It was so beautiful there. I saw many works by El Greco there, didn't know anything about him before the trip. Hm, I felt like we saw his art in a church but it had to of been a museum. In Spain, we got to relax more than in Paris. That was nice. I want a vacation like Spain again...that's what I want. (I'd say California sounds good...hmm....)

I guess I just took a trip down memory lane, woo. But it was such a good time. Oh, can't forget this. I was crazy obsessed with BritPop at that time (Oasis mainly)...hey, I was in high school. And our tour guide happened to be from England. Manchester to be exact (yeah, um where Oasis was from). It didn't help that he had great taste in music...and that British accent either. Scruffy sexy tour guide, why!?! Fate I tell ya!

Anyhow, I want a vacation. I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin here. Not a good feeling. And summer is coming and it feels great...but I still want to travel somewhere. I will definitely blog about it if I do. Take care!

Um, yeah, I will live there for a summer or two!

And how beautiful is that!?!

I need a vacation too. :) My aunt just moved to Florida so it's the most budget friendly possibility for me.

My mother is from Canada so we went there to visit family many times when I was a child. There are definitely some places I'd like to go visit there.
