This makes me feel terribly sad...and knowing that these things will continue to happen because people are stupid makes it worse. I know it would be hard as hell (and probably not work unfortunately) to ban alcohol completely but after hearing things like this, makes me think what else could you do?!!?

6 Curious people had this to say...:
the really messed up part about this whole story is that the cops were called on her earlier in the day and she was told NOT to get in the car and drive. but, of course, the cops couldn't just hang out there because, at that point, she'd done nothing wrong.
there is never a good reason to drive drunk. i know i would NEVER get angry at a friend for calling me for a ride, no matter what time of night it was.
and if you have no one to call most bars will provide you with a cab. because they know they are also responsible for you not leaving their establishment in a dangerous state. i've taken many, many classes on this as a bartender.
i get angry about young lives being cut short for no good reason!
I hate this so much. As a mother of a 17 year old who just started driving it scares me to death. He has to watch out for other people, not just himself.
I've also had the talk about calling me if he drinks. His punishment will be so much less sever than if I find out he drove home after drinking.
They should install a breath analyser in cars and people would have to use it everytime before they start their car. If they're drunk the car shouldn't start.
heart breaking :(
Ashley was really upset about this accident, and in turn, so was I...
She actually went out and found their MySpaces, and they were still out there...it was really sad.
Alcohol will always be around, even if it was illegal, just like any other drug. It's like the gun thing...people kill people not the substance/item itself. That lady made a decision to risk her life and everyone else's when she decided to get behind the wheel. I'm assuming the lady didn't die? If not, she probably wishes she had.
