Long time, No Blogging

Just stopping by my Blog to say HELLO and that I hope everyone is doing good. I'm busy busy busy-ish. ;) I'll be on a long break soon, so I am looking forward to that. If I don't do another post before Christmas, then I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. ^_^

I'm considering...

...leaving the Blogger world. I love my Blog and everything but honestly (and shamefully) it's so much easier to post (especially pictures) on my FaceBook page & art page. I would probably not delete this Blog right away...but I may not post for a while...or ever again. Hm...makes me sad but I feel like I can't really keep up with it anymore. :(

If I do decide to say Goodbye for a while, I just want to let ALL of my Blogger friends know how much I have appreciated your comments & support for wow, almost 2 years on here. I've had so much fun meeting new people & sharing...& reading your Blog posts...but I may have to say Adios for a bit. I'm sorry. I blame that bast@rd FaceBook. I SOOO give in to it. But but but...yeah, I shouldn't have an excuse right?

Hi Friends....PAF picture blog...

...is coming soon. I just got to sort through which pictures I want to post. If you are my Facebook friend then you probably know all the pics from last weekend are posted. If not, please take a look. I'm still reorganizing after the festival since I brought a lot of art & random other things...now it's just putting it all back where it originally was. Whooohhhh....a lot of work! Been doing it all morning and I'm finally taking a bit of a break.

But I can tell you I had a lot of fun! I talked with lots of cool artists (did some great art swaps) and people...and even sold a few things. OK, hope you all are doing well and I'll be blogging (maybe more than one post, I'll see how it goes) about it eventually.

Hi friends. How is everyone doing? I'm alright. As most of you know by now, I haven't been blogging very regularly...and I do miss it here. BUT another place has been sucking my time...yes, you all know it...dun dun dun....FACEBOOK. It's like mini-blogging in a way...ergh, well, you know what I mean.





So I still LOVE my blog with all my heart and don't want to DITCH it completely, so I had an idea the other day. And although I know it's completely up to me, I wondered about your thoughts...and even suggestions perhaps. Well, first let me say my computer is lacking a place for memory cards from cameras....so I am without photos at the moment. Which has been hard...on the FaceBook if you know what I mean.





OK, so here's my idea. I was thinking of turning Through Eve's Looking-Glass primarily into my own personal ART blog. Hm.....so what do you think? I have a feeling that it won't always be about ART though. So think about it...sound like a good idea?





You see, I do a lot of posts/pic stuff on FaceBook of my art already...and I think people don't care so much at times....so I figured maybe I could do a lot of the "showing" of it here. I'm not sure if I would stop showing it there either...but for sure I want to make THIS blog more so about my art and all that stuff (maybe process work...if you've seen my one album on FB you know what I mean).





I just don't want to leave BLOGGER because I do love my blog and this way (doing it about art) may be easier for me to document things. What I mean by that is it would be easier for me to remember things...cuz my memory sucks...and writing things down (like exactly when I was part of a show....or went to an art show)...so yeah, I think it just might work.





And if YOU have any suggestions to what you'd like to see/know with this new (but old!) blog, PLEASE let me know. I love that all you have been so supportive of me and my art and I can't thank you enough. You guys are some of the best BLOGGY friends a girl could have!





Alright, gotta split but would love to know your thoughts, suggestions, etc.... I really thought about this and it seems to make sense...and like I said I don't think I will be writing about ART 100% of the time...so that's why I would like you to TELL me what else you'd like to see on this blog...though I can't promise anything...please keep in mind. OK, time to go.....I miss you all but most of y'all I speak to on FaceBook from time to time...but still BLOGGER is how me met, and I'm grateful for that.

Hi friends and fellow bloggers. Woweee, things have been kinda hectic but in a good way. I was part of an art show last week, Wonderland, in Detroit. And YAY, one of my pieces sold. Very exciting. The performance was quite great too...as was all of the art up in the gallery over last weekend.

And now for even more exciting news-Wonderland will be going on for one more weekend, yay! And it's this weekend, which so happens to be the same weekend as my 2nd art show of the year, Bad Channels, a cult film inspired art show. Umm....this is never gonna happen again! That is 2 art shows in a day that I'm attending...both with my art. Yikes, out of control!

Hope you all had a great Xmas! Mine was good. I have no idea when I'm going to blog like a regular blogger does...well, is there such a thing as a regular blogger? I think you know what I mean. It's so strange though to go from 80 posts last December to less than 10 this December. I just have to ask myself "What in the world was I writing about?" Because now I'm soooooooo....well, at a loss for words. Yet I still FaceBook...most of you know that you can find me there at some point in the day. Gotta run....like the white rabbit! Ciao!~

Not so much a BIG announcement

Well, as some of you've seen in a previous post I said I had a BIG annoucement to make. Well, after much thinking I've decided something...and now it's really not that BIG of an announcement. (Which is a good thing, I think!) So here's the story...

• I was planning on just taking a "break" from blogging for a bit. Maybe a month or so...but as I said above, I've thought about it and have decided that I know I will want to post something or another so I still will be blogging...just not as much. (As I love my blog and you guys too much!) And I know I say that often, but I do really have matters to attend to...and I can't put them off. The main thing is a personal issue that I can't get into here, but it's o.k....I'm not getting sent to prison or anything ;) ...just have to do something that is going to take some time (much thought, ugh!) and effort.


• So for those of you who talk to me personally, you know through email or FaceBook, you may know what's up...and for those who don't, like I said, it's not the end of the world. Just a certain something that has to be taken care of. And if we speak through email, just know I may not be able to get back to you as quickly as before. BUT as for you FaceBook friends, you know I'm there pretty often, and we can chat from time to time of course! Don't be afraid to IM me. I'm usually doing nothing much besides pondering. ;)

• SOOOOoooo, in the meantime this week is Mike's week off from work (aka: vacation) so we'll be doing some stuff and just relaxing (although I do work my normal schedule still). I am also going to be part of another local art show, YAY!, taking place in December. I finished up one piece over the weekend and the other I'm still working on...and I'm unsure if that one will be in the show. We'll see. It's an art show that's theme is Cult Films, and I chose Nightmare Before Xmas. {The piece I did is called "Scary Teddy"-pictured above-and is a character, though a small part for him, in one of my fave films.}

Something's a-coming very soon

Well, I know I said I'd be busy & I am a bit (today is actually my only day to myself-no work basically-before the art show Thursday)...and as I am not feeling too well today, I decided to get ahead of myself for once. You know how you want to occupy your time when you're sick so you try to avoid feeling sick? Yeah, that's what I did.

• Wellllll, as some of you may know my One Year Blogoversary is coming up...in early December BUT I want to do the giveaway in November because it's gonna be BOTH a BIG win and BIG question that I'm going to ask. I'll give you some clues right now...just because. ^_^

Angelspit Poster and my BIG upcoming week

Sooo, this is the Angelspit poster I received in their "First Aid Pack"...but it wasn't signed beforehand. I chatted with 'em for a bit, as did Mike, and got both Destroyx & Zoog to autograph the poster (which is also the cover for their newest album Hideous & Perfect). We FINALLY hung it up on the living room wall today. Mike already has their autograph from something previously but I wanted my VERY OWN. So they signed it to me, Eve, and if you can't see what they wrote that well...please look below. I think it's kinda funny what she wrote.




Zoog (top left) wrote "Eve Rocks!" and Destroyx wrote "Eve <- God!" Oh and also XXX Destroyx. ;)

I hope you all enjoy your upcoming week. Mine is going to be a bit busy so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to blog. Tomorrow, I am off work but have an appointment, Tue-work, Wed-hair cut & dye & work, Thu-work, then DAMNED @ 7 pm - ?, then Friday, which is Devil's Night and the Masquerade Ball at Damned from 9 pm - ? Busy busy busy! And then the next day is Halloween. Time sure flys!

• Oh and I'm still not 100% on my outfits for DAMNED. I bought another shirt (possibly) for the 2nd night of DAMNED. And boots, for maybe the 1st day. So I gotta figure that out. I bet guys don't go through this "this or that" stuff with clothes...no fair. :( But it's fine...I just gotta say THAT'S IT and be done.
  

• Oh and these things are going on at the house that makes things a bit stressful. 1-Our kitchen sink is not working (again). 2-House has been thrown into chaos because of that and because of number three which is. 3-My art room is "under construction." Mike finally put together a nice TARGET bookshelf today for that room so it's getting there...just so much junk on the floor-ugh! 4-Tom (roomie) is still in the process of putting together our computer. We think he's almost done...thank goodness. 5-STRESS in general. Stress about work, the art show-we still need to buy masks, and Halloween. It's terrible, I've never waited soooo long to put up decorations. We DO have 2 small pumpkins and one big one though.

• OK, enough babbling. So if I'm not around, you know I'm doing something on any given day. Wish me luck so I don't lose my mind! Ahhhh! J/K And please know that I'd probably rather be HERE than there most the times...exception the DAMNED show (of course) and Halloween. ;) So terrible cuz I have no idea what we're doing that day. Passing out candy was fun last year but we barely got any trick-or-treaters, kinda sucky. Alright hope you take care & adios for now.~

Just so you know...

Update on Etsy Shop, Giveaway, & DAMNED

Hi there. Just two quick FYI's. One my Etsy shop is back up and running. I mainly did this so when I participate in the DAMNED show people can have another option when it comes to purchasing my art. Second thing, as I said in yesterday's post, I will NOT be announcing the winner of the GIVEAWAY today. (Sorry but too much is going on, ugh.) So I will announce the winner at some point tomorrow. And again, you STILL can post about it (saying it's the last day too) if you have a blog...and if you want to of course. Well, gotta get going...busy day. Another FYI: mainly for Demented Wench (and anyone else curious), I did take pics of the First Aid pack that I got from Angelspit's concert. So those will come very soon.

Oh, also I just looked at the 'confirmed' list of special artists/guests to be at this year's DAMNED show. And rumor has it (because last year there were rumors also) that BOTH H.R. Giger and (just saw this) Marilyn Manson will be attending (possibly). That would be really cool. I love Giger and MM...my boyfriend loving MM more than I, so he would be very excited if Mr. Manson was there. Plus I have to say I really like MM's artwork...he does a lot of watercolor work and I think it's pretty great. So, that would be awesome if both or even one showed up. Here's hoping!

...to the Blogger authors I follow. I am not commenting much right now because of what I said in one of my previous comments (on a post). I honestly don't like using the laptop and it is especially sucky on Blogger. Seriously! But I am reading your posts...as much as I can. I just don't like spending a lot of time on here w/this POS laptop. And I think we'll be getting our new computer soon... All we really need to do is go out for the needed stuff to build it and of course the not-so-fun part...buying it. Which shouldn't be too much, according to our roomie...and he built his also. So hopefully he's right.

Sooo...an update...well, I got back from the art show/Royal Oak a little while ago. It was pretty packed so I didn't take any pictures in there. :( But I did take a few random cellphone pics in the cool Salvation Army in Royal Oak. :) Oh and at the SA, I got a cute PIG picture and a nice little bottle to pour cream out of for my coffee. Didn't buy anything at the art show (prints or jewelry or anything artsy). But as I said got the picture, bottle, as well as a hardcover book of Alice In Wonderland w/Through the Looking-Glass in it (always the greatest!) from Barnes & Noble in RO too. Was only $7.99...and I don't have a hardcover of Alice, if you can believe that!





All in all I had a very nice time with my friend April at the show and walking around downtown Royal Oak. Kinda upset that LIFT (toy store & art gallery) isn't open late on the weekends...only til 8pm...but that's o.k. I had a good time regardless. A LIFT skatedeck show is coming up soon...so I'll prob be going to that.

Back from the lil' break...

...to say Hey, Hello, What's up?, How are ya? Me, ahh, I'm back to work...nothing too exciting there really. FaceBooking more than I should. Got the paperwork done, yay! Art room...there's a path...my CD's are somewhat organized...but a lot needs to get done. I just didn't realize how much space I really need...um...want in there. I don't think it's all gonna fit so I just walk in and say "Another time." But that can't keep happening. Procrastinating me...I've been this way forever so it's actually nothing new.

So tomorrow should be fun. I don't have much planned during the day but at night I'm going to 323 Gallery in Royal Oak again (I've posted an entry or 2...or 3 from there before). I love art, as all you know by now I'm sure, and I just want to go go go to as many art shows as I can. There's actually a BIG ol' one going on Saturday & Sunday in downtown Detroit...but I can't make it...yet it's o.k. and 323 should be fun so it's all good.

Also been having a new obsession (they come and go and come and go...and sometimes stay for a while depending)...his name is Syd Barrett. I had a thing for him before...and then it went away and now it's back in full force. He was the original founder (as well as singer/guitarist/lyricist) of Pink Floyd...and he had a very sad fall from almost-fame. And he's drop dead gorgeous...to me...dark hair...dark eyes...(swoon). (Oh, and sadly he has passed on.)

Anyways, I had Pink Floyd albums before I 'found' out more about him...and I've been listening to 'em...and I got one of his solo albums today...and a biography...(haven't read a book in so long)...cuz I kinda get obsessive...but I think it's fine. I just consider it 'learn learn learning' about someone/something. Music...art...and human behavior are my 3 favorite things to learn about in life...especially when all three are combined. Then there's no stopping me...mu ha ha ha. ;)

Hi friends and followers...

...I'm probably not going to be blogging too much this week. I have paperwork to fill out, an art room to reorganize (including all my cd's & dvd's in there), and work starts on Wednesday too. (my 1st day back in over 2 weeks, and I have loved the time off).

So all that above is the BIG ugh...but the GOOD is...I got my Pet Trilobite print today, and it's so beautiful. It's the coolest one I've purchased so far (see my header for this painting)...and it's really colorful & bright. It is slightly bigger and I really think that makes a BIG difference. Or maybe the prints I got before (which are 8 x 10...this one is 8 x 16 on 13 x 19 paper) are a tad darker. This one is nice and bright and her hair has gold shining out of it...looks really cool. I'll try to get a good pic of it soon.

Plus the weather here in Detroit has been so up and down lately. It was so chilly the past several days (big change compared to the non-stop humidity)...and now it's pretty warm again...with not much humidity, thank goodness. When it got cooler, I just felt like being lazy and that's really not helping me get my room in order and get my paperwork done (so I can possibly get disability for my mental illness...have to fill it out, Medicaid requirement...that is IF I get Medicaid. But heck I'll take disability-not to sound like I'm out to get the system but it's more money than I make at work...and the economy is so sucky that the more money right now, the better of course!).

OK, enough rambling from me....I hope you all enjoy your week. I'll be trying my best to stay on top of the blogs I follow...but just know I'm either doing something productive...or (worse) just being lazy. Sorry but I blame the weather! ;) OK, take care and be chatting with you soon.~
