A very sweet gift from Sullivan

Hi friends & followers. Recently I received a very sweet gift in the mail from Sullivan McPig & his owner. It really made my day!

First I opened the very BIG envelope...

...and it was the coolest card of Hello Kitty. Have never seen one quite like that. And as many of you know, I love everything HK!...

...and then I saw that there was more Kitty-stuff inside, lots of candy, yum...and some cool buttons. Thanks so much Sullivan & Carien, it made me smile. ^_^

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!~

Sugar & Spice mixed media piece

Hiya. How was your weekend? Mine was good...short, but good. ;)

Well, I've been working on this piece above for several days and it is officially done now. I wanted to work with these doll faces I received as a nice (awesome!) gift from my artist friend Lynn. She was so thoughtful to grab a bunch of different doll, animal, etc...faces for me at a cool little place in Missouri. Thanks Lynn, you rule!

So these faces were actually really hard to apply to this canvas panel. I tried not using any glue or anything (besides paint) to hold 'em in place...a new thing I've been trying to see if stuff sticks. Sometimes it does, sometimes it don't. Trial & error basically. They are very thin & delicate faces (very old I would also guess!) so yeah, they didn't stay in place.

So I had to use the glue gun, which was fine...I just didn't want to end up using a ton & "ruin" the look of the faces. I like the way it turned out in the end.

On this 11 x 14 canvas panel (which I also framed) I used: plastic doll faces, acrylic paint (lots as you can see from the texture), glitter, hot glue, and....

...THUMBTACKS. I don't know why but I just have this thing for 'em. I like the way they look dried. Also, when I (literally) pile 'em on to the piece, they will end up turning point up because of all the paint holding 'em down...which I think is sweeeeeet!

Basically this piece is about the old saying "Little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice." And yeah, I added a pinch of real sugar & spice to the piece when it was almost dried. Just because. ;)

Enjoy your week!~

More of the endless supply of Cellphone Pics

I am doing so many 'random cell pics' because Tom (roomie) promised me we'd be getting our computer on Saturday. Well, he said he wouldn't get it up & running asap but that we'd atleast get it. But still, I wanted to get "rid" of these because I had so many in my phone that it was time for 'em to get uploaded. So there will be atleast 2 or 3 more posts to come soon. As for the picture above, I'd really like to know who's responsible for killing society, aren't you?

This spider lives in my rear view window. I swear I've had spider live there for years (atleast 10 years or so)...during the summer months. I'd like to think it's the same spider but I doubt that!

Taking a pic of him from inside my car...but facing the car. Sound confusing? Yeah, it was confusing to take this kinda pic. I couldn't really see what I was doing.

Waiting at the Meijer deli is sooooo depressing. There's not even a lot of people there but I probably waited 20 minutes for my number to be called. Ugh, I need to start bringing reading material when I go over there.

Bibi thinking she's going to get some of my dinner. That cute doesn't fool me! :) This is my wallpaper on my phone right now. :)

The boys playing Beatles RockBand (PS3). I couldn't finish the game. Well, not when Mike wanted to. He's a weirdo and said "We need to play NOW or we won't get the trophy." It's a virtual trophy I'm thinking. And I just sang 15 songs. I needed a break but he gets a little hardcore. So Tom picked up the drums (I sang...and I never play the instruments cuz I suck) and they finished the game...and got the trophy. I would definitely rent this again. Lots of fun!

So I own a few Beatles records...yes vinyl. Most are very old...HELP is the only one I bought brand new. I used to have this thing for 'em (so did my best friend in high school)...and we watched all their films and just couldn't get enough of 'em. So my memory was pretty good when it came to singing a lot of the songs. Oh, I put the vinyl out for 2 reasons: One to give us good luck...Two to add some Beatles love. Awwww. :)

At the Main Art Theatre when Labyrinth was playing at Midnight. This area used to have a payphone but all it is now is a small little place surrounded by mirrors. Hmm...interesting.

My friends (Adam, to the left, Brian, far right) outside the show. We got there early and there was lots of people inside, not to mention it being warm. So we stepped outside before showtime.

I really do have some artistic friends. A friend of mine designed all the posters for the Midnight Movies this year. And he's a pretty awesome artist. Always has been since I first met him in junior high...so it's no surprise art/graphic design is something he is going into. So I asked him for this poster on the door and he said I could order one at the front desk.
I also really REALLY liked his Spirited Away poster, so I ordered that one too. They were only $2 each, not bad. And I bought frames for 'em because I don't want to put holes through 'em to hang up...they are just too nice for that. I might go see The Lost Boys at Midnight next week and might get the Midnight Movie poster for that one too. It's really cool. They are all cool but I must limit myself!

Outside the Main Art Theatre. I own this poster. It's on one of our walls in the house. Love this image lots...so much detail, love it!!!

Some Gloomy Bear merch is at Hot Topic. Not sure if they're getting in more. They have a couple necklaces (like the one pictured above), earrings, and bracelets. I HAD to get the necklace above...it's awesome. And I'm showing my Gloomy love. Cuz I just love him to death!

Thought this was a HK Halloween shirt. But no. Think about it. Yeah, Michael Jackson has even taken over Hello Kitty. I'm not cool with that. :( But the shirt is cool...just not why the shirt exists to begin with. I feel bad about his death but the merch is just out of control here in the US. It's nuts!!!

Weird things to add to your smoothie drink if you ask me. Like Bee Pollen, Wheat Grass, Spirulina, or Stripper...which I have no clue what those last 2 things are. Odd. Hm.

The COOLEST Hello Kitty Halloween Stickers I've seen yet. Love 'em love 'em love 'em!!!

Bibi likes Lil' Lambi and Lil' Lambi like people or animals too so it works out. Again, Bibi never looks too thrilled when I take pics of her relaxing.
Enjoy your day friends and chat with you soon.~

Random Cell Pics

I love this cute lil' gothic (Lolita) hat. From Hot Topic. I wonder if my hair was styled right IF I could pull it off. Hm. But April can. I think they both look good on her. I made her model 'em for me. ;) Thanks April! ^_^

The little gothic hat.

The lil' clip...not a hat. I think the hat is cuter. What do you all think?

Wife: "Honey I'd like to go hunting with you but....I still want to look cute & feminine." Husband: "Meijer's has exactly what you're looking for, dear." Can you say tacky tacky tacky!!!???!!! Ugh...very ugly and just WRONG.

Red Robin (restaurant) is pretty good. A rare moment when Mike is using my camera phone.

Love this mirror's frame.

In the mall. But how many people can fit in there? Hmm...

At my work. I still have no idea what this means.

At the Salvation Army in Royal Oak. OK, the record sleeves are destroyed...but in the name of ART, and that's fine by me. April posing (for me) below. She's by BOWIE. See him? I like the owl cover too...I think that one was Rush. I think.

Bibi always looks so frightened in pictures. I don't know why. She thinks something weird is going on I guess.

Before going to an art opening.

What I got my friend Juno at her wedding shower (that took place at my work). I really liked that clock...and from TARGET, wooo hoo!

I'm not a fan of Bob Dylan, but I love this quote he said. At Blockbuster Video.

Bibi in our bed. Side profile. Do you like her collar? From.......TARGET. She's been wearing it for a few months now. Now I know why mothers take a million pictures of their kids...cuz I always love taking pics of my Bibi.
Enjoy your Tuesday friends. I'll be working tomorrow. So I wanted to post this tonight. Take care~

Shirt, Tin, and a few gifts from friends

Here's an Emily the Strange shirt I got when Hot Topic had a half off their half off clearance sale a while back. Yes, I haven't even worn it yet...I have one too many shirts...but when they're that cheap (5-6 dollars), it's hard to resist.

A Skelanimal small tin box from Target. Only 1.99! My fave Skelanimal there is the owl, Oliver. Now on to some gifts I've received from some friends lately...

First a really nice cross-stitched bag w/Hello Kitty on it made by Carien (Sullivan's owner). She knows I love Hello Kitty! And I love this bag lots. She also sent me the two pins on the bag. Thanks so much Carien!

Next is a box (a small mint box) of LOTS of buttons from my friend at the library, Karen. She hand-picked them...I like the colors lots. Thank you Karen!
And last but not least is my long-awaited surprise gift from Erin (Queen of Clearance). Drumroll........

An awesome plate of Alice (and all the characters) from Wonderland. How thoughtful and sweet of her! Thank you so much Erin, I love it! It's exactly my style! ;)
Big thanks to all my very cool friends for the nice gifts. I appreciate you thinking of me!
Take care~

Hanging out with Jenny, Pure Trance, and Fortune Pork Toys

You will soon learn about FORTUNE PORK...
it's something really cool & cute.
Made by KidRobot, as usual...
and the toys were cute as was the packagaing.

Sooo...here's a lil' about when I took Jenny for the 1st time...
to LIFT art gallery/toy store.
We also ate and walked around...
picks of my COOL finding will come soon.

But in the meantime, here's some pics...
from our little journey to Royal Oak...
We ate at Noodles & Company which is really good.
I got the Pesto Cavatappi...
Jenny got something Asian I think...and spicy.
Very good food. I would definitely go back.
She was 20...I was lucky number 13, yay!!!
Cuz they bring the food to your table-
how cool & nice!

Mine is the green one...looks a lil' odd but was very good!

So, after we ate, we opened my two blindboxed toys.
I got another Pure Trance toy (my last I swear!)...
and now I have four...all different, very cool!

And I got the COOL girl figure...
that I REALLY REALLY wanted...
the most...
above all the other Pure Trance toys.
Jenny is beginning to become my good luck charm...
because...
I let her open my boxes...
since she didn't get anything at LIFT.
Was VERY fun watching her....
and I didn't mind...
cuz Lord knows that...
I have opened quite a lof of blind boxed toys! ;}

Here's me holding my Fortune Pork (Series 2) blind box.
Wonder what's inside?
These are 3 inch Mini Plush Toys.

Part 1: taking the foil wrapper out of the box.
(Technically this is part two...
Jenny opened it with a knife from the bottom...
IDK how I skipped over loading it...)
Darn!!!

And I got...
A purple lil' pup called Ruffty...ruff ruff!!!
I think he's very cute!

Each toy/character has small lil' story.
Which I love.
Jenny is telling me about Ruffty...
and he sounds just like Bibi.
A very loving doggie...awww.

Curious about this pic below???
Can you guess what I'm holding???
Can you guess WHERE I bought it from?...
HINT: came from Royal Oak.
From the ___ store.

Hmm...???....

Oh and don't I look so seductive with my lollipop!??
ha ha...
Guess you're gonna have to wait and see.
Take care~
