Ideas bouncing around & Cellphone pics @ JoAnn's

Hi curious ones. Lately I've been having lots & lots of ideas running through my mind with the possibility of 'opening' an Etsy shop for my art. I've been thinking of making other things that I'm not very familiar with. One of the main things I've been thinking about making is (well, they are already made)...make that getting small to large trinket boxes from craft places and then painting 'em/adding pendants or other things to 'em.
Another thing I've been thinking about is doing something with mirrors. I bought one mirror (w/a wooden frame around it) and would like to make my own looking-glasses, with their own special touches of course.

Now remember Alice In Wonderland is NOT going to be my ONLY theme if I do open this shop. But I can't help to think of mirrors...and other Alice things as well. Some of you know that I like to use mirrors in my art. But they were broken pieces of 'em in the past. I actually bought some already shaped small mirrors (squares & circles).

That means I may not be using a hammer to smash the mirrors much anymore. Which is actually a lot of FUN! But it is dangerous (the tiniest piece of dusty glass can kill if it gets in contact with your skin)...and it can be quite complicated to put on the odd-shaped shards too. Yeah, and the burning HOT glue touching your skin (sometimes) makes you just wanna SCREAM! That's another thing I may be stepping away from because it's a pain in the @ss. I bought regular kinds of glue today-it'll be a whole new experience.

So anyways lots o' ideas have been bouncing around. And so I've been checking out BOTH a Michaels and a JoAnn's...which are also very close to my house. Can be good...and can be very bad too & you know why. $$$$>_<$$$$

Oh & there's really no books/magazines for us peeps who do different kinds of arts/crafts all together (I would say for my bloggin' buds Diane & Dracenea too). I mean atleast I can't find any at the moment. That could be helpful but I also like learning on my own too. And I'm not using the WWW for some of the things I'd like to do/am already doing either....yet.

O.k. so what lays below is some of my window shopping while at JOANN's this week. I can SWEAR to you I didn't want to go back (just ask Dracenea!)...I had to return things, twice! I tried using these stamp pads that don't want to cooperate with me. So more reasons for me to 'window shop' there right? Well, I'm done with trying to get those stamp pads (they are gold & silver ones)...and just using a regular (non-metallic) color one. SOOO, I won't go back til....hm, the urge hits me. Here's some of my wandering finds...

BAA! I'm a Sheep. And OINK! I'm a Pig. Cuz I like sheep too...and if you hit the plastic piggie or sheep, he'll make a Baaaa or Oink noise.

I can't do these. I don't think I'd have the patience...but it's a pretty sweet design.

LOOKIE, it's my jewelry line! Just kidding, I wish. (But ooo, my colors-black & purple!) I'm starting to get interested in jewelry, charms, pendants, etc...for these ideas. And the NOIR stuff was very pretty but....pricey. So very classy looking...ooo la la!

I really like these ones. Especially the top LEFT one-a purple starfish.
And the bottom RIGHT one-a rocking chair...or some kinda chair.

This brand has really nice ones. I actually bought the pendant they have on their sign a few days back. Very lovely.

MANOR HOUSE also has some really good ones.

I think that this Koala is the creepiest.
He has a spider & a crocodile...and stuff like that in his belly.
I just can't imagine a kid saying "MOM, I want a ___ Belly Bunch!"

I love this piece. I think you're supposed to put him outside. He's supposed to be a tree stump. Well, if you look on the top of his head you can see the tree better. He wasn't very heavy though...and for 34.99, I would expect it to stay down on your lawn/porch well!

Cellphone Pics: Wal-Mart Wanderings

I went to Wal-Mart today. Haven't been there in a while. Last year they had a My Melody purse and they got another one this year. I think it's very cute...yes, she's Hello Kitty's friend.

Mary-Kate and Ashley cosmetics. Interesting because one would think they would be selling their stuff for top dollar at Macy's or some place like that. But it's at Wal-Mart...kinda funny...and just weird that they have their own makeup. Then again, what don't they have!??

Wal-Mart has some cool pins but I didn't get these ones. I do like the one that says "Peace, Love, & Lipgloss" though. Just wouldn't wear any of the others like "You can't afford me." But that's just me.

Looks like no one wants America's Next Top Model merch. BIG surprise.

I kinda liked this shirt. I found it in the men's department. They didn't have anything cool in the women's section. You see, purple & black are MY colors. But hm, I guess it's hard for me to break out of my Joker-phase still...

Last but NOT least, found these hoodies that say Detroit on the front in the men's department also. They have Coca-Cola & Walmart on their sleeves. Who wants to wear 'Walmart' on them if they don't work there? Weird! (I did buy a few things...nothing too exciting-don't know if I'm gonna post 'em.)

Bed Bath & Bla Bla Bla

i got out of the house-woo hoo! i'm gonna beat ya SAD (seasonal affective disorder, well i have it a tad these days...)!!! and BIG yum for tim horton's toasted almond iced coffee (extra cream!)...i know it's freezing out but i still love it! so i had to go to Bed Bath & Beyond for a nice knife for kitchen use of course. and in my wanderings there i noticed something. it may not be a new thing to you, or maybe so, but it's new to me cuz i haven't really looked around (you know walked around the whole store) in a while. so now they sell shampoo, cosmetics, and stuff like that now. hm, curious, right!? the prices seemed pretty average just glancing too...odd since that place is kinda pricey. (i did get my knife there cuz they had good selection & was clearanced-score!)

o.k. that place better not put Target out! ugh, that would suck. i would NOT shop there. i don't think it would though since Target is pretty well-known for good deals & overall rules. hm, so i don't think i have too much to worry about. (If you don't already know, Target is my fave store...could wander around there all day!) and the cool peeps flock there. seriously, it sounds weird but i see so many young peeps, maybe late teens to early 30's, there more than any other age group sometimes.

it was very curious cuz one day imparticular i saw tons of youngsters...and everyone had Target "food court" stuff w/em. like it was the place to hang. i thought it was funny. speaking of Target, i might go there today w/mike. we usually go together on Friday or Saturday. we'll see cuz now that i'm back in from the cold, i don't wanna leave...for atleast a lil' while. and in about a couple of hours it'll be dark too...which means even colder. ughhhh.~

Feel Good Lost

i was out wandering yesterday, well i was honestly looking for a knife but that's another story. and so bed bath & beyond is next to best buy so i stumbled in there. i'm not the 'downloading' type of girl...sometimes, but very rarely, (& i always pay)...i go through i-tunes. anyways, i usually buy my cd's off amazon but sometimes (and again rarely cuz amazon is cheap) i go to my local record store or the big BOYS-Best Buy or Target...NEVER FYE or WALMART-no no no! i'm not THAT bad. so i haven't walked around a 'music' place in a while. i had nothing inparticular i was looking for...just browsing.

so i noticed the store was set up a bit different. now all the music DVD's are above the cd's. don't really like that, want them to be all together...not in alphabetical order with the cd's below. then i noticed something shocking-Best Buy carries RECORDS now. yes, vinyl! crazy, yeahhhh! and i love me some vinyl every now & then. they didn't have too much of a selection though. hm, some Queen, Misfits, Pink Floyd, REM, etc...& they were decently priced strangely. so then i started to think of things i could look for. i thought of She Wants Revenge (it's from 2007 but i still don't have it) and another Broken Social Scene CD. and i still continued to browse just in case i was missing anything.

i opted for Broken Social Scene since i've been listening to 'em a lot lately. they are classified as soundscape mainly. meaning: more about the instruments, not a lot of singing...basically background music. and i've been listening to Feel Good Lost (2001) for a while now...since i got it on Xmas. that is one great CD! the music is awesome...i don't think there's any singing...if so it's really low & limited. so the one they had there, You Forgot It In People (2003), was what i got. and i was kinda disappointed. :( only because there was lots of singing and the instruments were a little more louder-music is more intense (if that's possible???)...not so much background music anymore. and when i say background i mean i would be writing/doing something relaxing...or trying to fall asleep (and i have fallen asleep while listening to Feel Good Lost too!). maybe i'll get into it more over time, i mean i only got it yesterday.

so as i said, it's soundscape and to give titles to the songs is kinda weird cuz most the times, there's no singing, just lovely sounds & noises. so i get a kick out of simple things...or hm, simple things amuse me....and so i like the names of their songs cuz...they amuse me. examples of some include: "i slept with bonhomme at the cbc," "love and mathematics," "stomach song," anthems for a seventeen year old girl," "late night bedroom rock for the missionaries," "lover's spit," and how about "i'm still your fag." yeah, these things amuse me...and you'd understand if you heard the music...they don't really need any titles. so it's kinda amusing they came up with these funny titles. (yes, eve is amused easily!)

so i recommend Feel Good Lost. and the other is good, don't get me wrong. but after only 2 years, their sound changed quite a bit. oh & they're canadian. and there's like a million members in the group. i think the MAIN guy has his own stuff now....so i don't know if BSS is even together anymore. hm, i gotta check to see what else they have out...pretty sure they got some other stuff.~
