Arts & Crafts: BIG sales and Deals-woo hoo!

Hi friends. It's time for an AWESOME sales/deals post. Ever since last Sunday, JoAnn's and Michaels Craft stores have had quite amazing sales going on. I'm talking REALLY REALLY great deals on many things...most of the sales being between 25-60% off certain supplies and crafts. And heck yes, I found that 60% off & it was something(s) I needed/used so I had to give in...several times.

So here's pics of one day of shopping at JOANN's (I might do a Michaels post, not sure yet). At the very bottom, you'll see how much I saved and I thought I did quite a good job if I don't say so myself. ;} OK, here's my stuff...oh, and yes, all this stuff will be put to good use so it wasn't just random finds.

Everything you will see below was on SALE, yay!!! OK, here ya go...

In this pic I got scrapbook paper (6 sheets for .96 cents), pack of hard canvas (3 pieces for 4.99) 2 sets of cardstock paper-for my collages (2.49 a pack), and 8.5 x 11 frames (2.39 each)-the frames were the 60% items I found. BIG SCORE!!! Hm...IDK what else in the store was 60% off & I searched it pretty good. Hmm...but it must not have been something I used (like fabric, stuff like that, cuz I didn't check out those areas much).

Stickers and epoxy stickers were all 40% off. And those epoxy stick ons/stickers can be pricey so I stocked up. I will use those on whatever they'll stick to-boxes, frames, collages, and probably some canvas too.

Clear stamps, acrylic block, an "A"-hm, you know what I'm gonna use that for right? Also to the right, necklaces with clasps you can put on (25% off) as well as a needlenose pliers (I think they're called that)...I need those for the necklaces. Because I've been making necklaces lately (for myself so far)...think the NNP were 25-30% off. Sweet!

OK, I lied this was the ONLY thing regular price (well, actually those stamps & acrylic block weren't on sale but for only $1 each, that's a score in itself!). It's Square Mirror pieces. 25 pieces for only 1.99, pretty good deal. And it keeps me away from the hammer when I break mirrors for some of my pieces. :)

So here's the damage, I mean SCORE! ;} I spent 47 bucks...but I SAVED almost 30.00 dollars. Pretty good, ya think? It helps when almost everyTHING is marked down by atleast 25%. I'm not going back to JOANN's today (today is the last day of both sales)...but I MAY go to Michaels...and that's only if I can find my two 50% off one item coupons from the Sunday paper. But maybe those went 'missing' for a good reason.
Take care & chat with you later.~

Memorial Day Sales, Oh My!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone.
And with that comes...
SALES!!!
And you know me, I LOVE a good sale or 2.
You might say "Eve oh Eve, you do love to spend $$$,
but...
this picture is proof to how cheap I really am.
I was at Target & just wanted a pic of me...
wearing the 'America/Uncle Sam' hat.

I didn't want to pay the $1 for it.
Yeah, I'm cheaper than you think.
Wait, that didn't sound right...;}
Anyways...here's my sales adventures.

This is a pic of MY Hot Topic, wooo hoo cuz...
Hot Topic had their half off the half off sale this weekend...
& I always hit it up then
.
Some things I couldn't pass up include:

An Alice shirt...and you know...
there's no question about whether or not to get it!

Purrrrple, is one of my colors.
And so is black...
And I love the skeleton image...
so Voila, I got this shirt.
It's a bit low cut for me...
so I'll be tank topping it under.

One of the best deals EVER.
Skelly animals totes for 4.99!!!
Isn't that sweet?
And I LOVE the bat skelly animal.
I know it's Skeleanimal, right?...
just like callin' em that.

The only thing at Hot Topic that I paid full price for.
A very creepy & cool Day of the Dead patch.
Now where to put it...
probably on a tote bag.

And BORDERS bookstore...
was extremely awesome for the holiday weekend too.
They had great sales on their clearance books...
aka: bargain books.

And they were buy one get one free...
and they were ALREADY very inexpensive.
I paid a total of $10.60 for all the books/CD's below.

I mean look at the cover...
it was a must-have.
Yeah yeah yeah,
don't judge a book by its cover but...
c'mon, Frankenstein & Cake...
how can you go wrong?!?
^_^

I got French Milk because it's a girl & her mother's 6 week travels to France. It looks really interesting because it's documented ALL in photos the girl took (she wrote/documented the experience)...and cool illustrations of things they did. Why is it called French Milk? The girl, Lucy, fell in love with France's milk while she visited there. I guess it's pretty yummy.

Kittenwar Postcards are cute...and are mainly for my cat-loving-friends (and YOU know who you are). Be expecting some from me in the mail or in person soon.

Carrie (in the right corner) is of course the Stephen King book...
but on CD's (7 of 'em, unabridged).
Yikes, I can't imagine how many hours that is but I'm sure it'll be awesome.
And to top it off it's read by Sissy Spacek.
How cool is that?
I read Carrie but a long time ago...
and I remember it being quite good.
So when I saw this book on CD's I thought hmmm....

Let me break it down cuz I think it's pretty sweet.
It normal retail price was 39.99...
& it was on sale for 5.99...
but since they were BOGO free...
it was only 3.00 + tax.
Major SCORE!!!
AKA: Score of the week...or maybe the whole month!
I hope it don't scare me too much though.
I can be a scaredy cat sometimes.

SOOO, all in all a great sales weekend.
And it isn't over...but I'm not going back out...
Well, a BIG maybe on Michaels (craft store) on Monday.

Some people often say...
I have some type of 'skill' with my shopping...
or that I'm a shopaholic (cough cough, Diane)...;}
But I don't see it either way.
I don't scope out stores for days & days....
waiting to see what'll get marked down.
Or planning/calculating things...that'd be a lot of work!
And I don't spend my entire day in the mall...
or at TARGET (my fave store as you know).
And ugh, you already know how I feel about shopping for...
dressy clothes/shirts other than t-shirts/pants/shoes shopping and grocery shopping,

but if not, I'll refresh your memory...
I hate it!

I mean a girl's got to eat, sleep, & blog...
at some time!

^_^

I just keep my eye out for certain sales...
from time to time...
especially the clearance sales.
Those are the BEST.
And I get some good selection sometimes...
and sometimes I don't.
Typically my local Hot Topic is kinda sucky...
for their 1/2 off sales, but I really lucked out this time around.
And BORDERS was kinda luck too.
I hadn't been there in a while...
and low & behold I found this great sale,
that actually had some good stuff.

So this was my BIG clearance splurge of the month.
And everything will be put to good use,
and that's all that matters, right?!!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.
I'm off to Meijer in a sec for...
BIG SALES!
Just kidding...
I gotta grocery shop.
It shouldn't be busy cuz it's late.

I prefer going later...

not a lot of long lines & usually not a million peeps down the aisles.
I'm quite the power shopper at the grocery store cuz I just wanna get the heck out of there asap. Unless I get sidetracked by something curious.
And yes you are right Diane, Meijer does have a BIG ol' selection of wines/beer/etc....
but Meijer is SO huge so no wonder, right??!

OK, adios for now amigos!~

All You Can Fit In A Bag For $20

I headed out to the Sanrio Store, aka: Hello Kitty store for those who don't know what Sanrio is, yesterday for their sale "All you can fit in a bag for $20." Things weren't from everywhere in the store, just from one BIG closed in area on the ground. I got there about 2 hours after the sale began so lots was picked over but overall I did quite well. The 2 rules were: 1) Your bag couldn't be ripped & 2) Your bag had to be able to close (touch when they taped it up). That wasn't a problem for me. I got 62 items...so that's about 33 cents per item. Sweeeet!!!

They were really REALLY nice there & kept saying
"Are you sure you don't want to get more?" Or "You got a ways to go, are you sure you're done?" I said No I'm done...well, two times I got a lil' more. ;} I felt bad because if I took anymore there really would've been next to nothing left & I'm already contemplating what to do with some stuff- although I do have some friends to give stuff to luckily. All in all a great day, and I even got a blister on my toe to prove my dedication to "power shopping" there as well as at the mall that day. Ha ha...;}

So here's some of my findings. I got lots of Chi Chai Monchan stuff, including a cute coffee mug. He's really adorable. He's a "funky little monkey with a whirly-curly tail."

Some random stuff...like notepads, stickers, charms, confetti, etc...Not pictured but I got many Chococat nail decorations. Very cute.
Honestly there wasn't too much Hello Kitty stuff, which I found interesting. I got a few things they had of her though including: a magnet, water bottle, keychain, journal, and the best finding of hers-a small jewelry box.

They had TONS of stickers, & I LOVE stickers, so I got plenty of 'em. ;}

One of my best finds. It's a Chococat Mirror. I like how there's little compartments below the mirror. It's now on my dresser.

My other GREAT find. It's a Chococat Rice Paper Lamp. The light's not very bright, which I like and is now near my bed.

I felt like a kid in a candy store stuffing my bag with all this stuff...it was lots of fun. I hope they have something like this in the future cuz I'll definitely be there...and earlier too! OMG, if I was there when it began I couldn't imagine what I would've found. But that's fine, I'm more than happy with my great finds! ^_^

Oh & this was definitely my score of the week...and probably month...or maybe even year...seriously. I saved BIG time! :)

Cellphone Pics: At The Mall

I went to the mall this afternoon just because I haven't been there in a while and also to look for a winter coat for next year-since they have great deals at the end of winter. I did find one for $25 at KOHL'S, not bad but I still have to see what Mike thinks of it. I know I shouldn't base my decision on his thoughts but no one else has seen it yet, ya know? Like to get an opinion because for one thing, it's a men's coat. Don't think I ever had a men's coat before. OH, and they had some type of Airplane Model display going on at one end of the mall.

Here's one of the many models they had there. I don't really care much about these Airplane Models but this was the 1st time I saw them at the mall I usually go to. You could tell they were homemade...which was pretty cool.

So this mall adventure ended up being my SCORE of the week too-oh & the coat counts as well. ;} They didn't have much at all in Hot Topic so I went over to Claire's & they were having their 10 for $10 sale...but you don't have to buy 10 to get the deal...you could buy any item (marked down under $10) for $1 each. So that's what I did.

I spent most my time looking here. They had some Hello Kitty stuff marked down to $1 each (got a few HK items) and also tons of her friend, Chococat, too. I got a necklace, earrings, and a button of Chococat...and also a couple of random (non-Sanrio) things totaling to $8.48, what a deal!

Score of the Week: Converse Slip-Ons

My score of this week is courtesy of Target, my fave BIG store. I consider these to be my Ruby Slippers. Well, they're not Ruby...& don't say they're PINK! I think they're FUCHSIA. ^_^
They were originally priced 19.99 but I got 'em for the awesome marked-down price of 4.99. Score!!! But how could I pass that up? Yes, I never owned a pair of sparkly shoes but 1) they're so puurrty and 2) they're Converse...so they RULE. I just gotta wait til Spring to wear 'em now. And hopefully, that won't be too far away.~

Taxes Back, Mall Scores, & Insane Sales People, Yay!

I went to the mall before meeting my friend for dinner the other night, mainly because I don't go to that mall often...and because it's been a while since I bought a new OBEY shirt. And also because I got part of my taxes back, so yay! My 1st stop was Buckle, where Obey is sold. The shirts are near the front so I looked at 'em all, trying hard to decide because they where ones I haven't seen before and I can never decide right away, although usually I go with my 1st instinct. So I grabbed that one after several minutes of debating, & then walked further into the store to see what they had. So I go almost to the back of the store & I see some Obey hoodies on sale. Then I start getting the ever so annoying sales people talking to me.

That was only my 3rd time in that store & lemme tell you they are VULTURES. One girl says something to me & then another joined her because they were convinced I was some other girl. I was kinda thrown off by their weird behavoir & it must've shown because soon they asked "Wait, do you come here a lot?" I say not really. Then between them two and a couple other girl associates they start getting more annoying by constantly saying "You're a really big Obey fan, hm?" Well, I am but how would they know? I wasn't wearing anything else showing Obey...and just because I said do you have any other Obey hoodies on sale means I'm hardcore (???). Weird because it got very irritating. And they are on commission so it's not a surprise but still they act so weird. Weirder than any other store I've been into. Couldn't wait to get out of there before long, so I tried my best.

I finally found a hoodie I liked but when I was about to go in the dressing room, the sales girl said "Let me give you my favorite one to try on. What size do you wear?" I told her my size just to be nice, and she brought me back one I saw but didn't like. And after I came out of the room she's like how did those one fit? And I said fine but that I only wanted to get one thing today, which was true. And the hoodie she chose was a very blurry image and you could hardly make out Obey on it so no thanks. And again, I wasn't there to buy a few things Obey (again, it's pricey)...just one for the time being.

I was trying on the hoodies because they were all 25% off and then for some reason, another 10% off, which is awesome for Obey merch since it's pricey. So the one that I tried on was nice, but only said Obey in the left corner of the front of the shirt. I like when Obey is written a bit bigger on it, and on the front. BUT the back was really sweet. It was a BIG image (covered the whole back) with the saying "War is Over" on an airplane flying over a battlefield. It was a really nice image BUT the words were covered up, not to mention some of the image, by the sweatshirt's hood. {Oh yeah, did you know that at that store you have to ask for a room with a mirror? Yeah, insane right? The 1st one I went into didn't have a mirror & I'm like "WTH?" What was the point of that? All I was trying on was hoodies to see how they looked on me...with a mirror! I could've just stayed in the store trying 'em on if I didn't need a mirror! Totally bizarre!}

So I left the dressing room and saw another Obey hoodie sitting out that I thought might be the better choice because it was one size up (other fit a big snug) and because the word OBEY was BIG and right across the front. So that was the one I decided to get in the end...and I saved $20 dollars on it after the 35% off, major score!!! {Oh, & I decided to not get the shirt I first saw. Basically the shirt was about the same price as the hoodie (on sale)...which is insane for a t-shirt! But I did like it...but the hoodies prob wouldn't be on sale next time I go back. So hopefully it'll still be there in a month or so.}

Yay, finally someone got me a Hot Topic gift card. But oddly enough, I couldn't really find much I wanted. So I just ended up getting these lil' things you put on any type of zipper (I put 'em on my hoodies...think I'm gonna start putting 'em on my purses/bags). They were only .98 cents each. Yay, clearance! One is a star, then a pistol, and finally a skeleanimal that's a purple rabbit. I put the star on my new Obey hoodie. :)

Last stop, Bath & Body Works. This mall is the only one I know in the area that sells Goldie products. So I walk in and don't see where they're normally displayed. Hm, curious? So I ask and I find out they 1) got marked down and none were probably left and 2) got marked down because B & BW won't be carrying Goldie anymore. :( The only thing left in the stoe was this mini lip gloss. It normally would be $7 dollars but I asked her to see how much it was & it was only .70 cents. I had to get it, but of course. I talked to the manager briefly because I was in there quite often when Goldie products were BOGO free a few months back. He remembered me cuz I was in there debating (well, it was Alice stuff!)...and prob one of the few peeps that actually loves the products. He asked me if I knew where Golide products were sold during our conversation. Hm, wha'''?! I only buy 'em there I told him & have never looked into finding them anywhere else.

O.k. that was my mall adventure for the week, as well as my scores of the week. Happy Saturday to you all by the way. I know I said no posts or that I'd ease up on 'em but I wanted to discuss this because I'm actually going out to another mall today for my very antipicated Dunnys, yay! I feel a lil' better today, hope it'll last...because I've had this very odd migraine since Thursday night. Plus, I got up before anyone else here so the computer was ALL mine. Have a good rest of the weekend and be talking to yous soon.~

Score of the Week: Tazo Organic Chai Tea

(basically, this is my drug of choice)

i bought this box on Friday at Target. it's Tazo Organic Chai: Spiced Black Tea Latte concentrate. never knew it was there before. i love chai tea (iced chai tea lattes from Starbucks in particularly). so a while back i saw on my receipt that it was Tazo tea used to make this awesome (& terribly expensive) drink. so when i saw this at Target, and for only 3.99 a box, i had to get it. it costs 3.85 (not including tax) for this large drink at Starbucks, mind you. but i never had it organic from anywhere...well, not that i know of. & mike is very insistent on getting organic (everything), & it was the same price of the non-organic one so i said why not?

well, it tastes...GREAT. and you don't need much of the concentrate. i mean it depends on the person of course, but for me personally i prefer lots of milk. so YUM!!! and when i got home Friday i read my receipt & i saw that the tea rang up for only $ 2.55 a box. SCORE! so now i want to go back to get more at that great price. even if it's not, i'm still gonna keep buying it by the box because Starbucks is so pricey. & i hate giving my $$$ to them too. (i think their chai tea was the best because they used Tazo.)

and by getting it by the box, you can make this drink however you want. & that way you don't have to worry about having too little or too much chai. which they always make mine w/TOO much chai...even when i ask for less. (you can tell 'em how many pumps of chai you want.) so i'm very glad i found this. saves a lot of $$$ & again, you can make it to your liking.~
