My 600th Post + A Giveaway

Hello there! It's my 600th post & it's time to celebrate it with a GIVEAWAY. My next art show: Shades of Green

This is really really REALLY exciting for me. Mainly because at this show I will display the most amount of my art work thus far. VERY exciting...and nerve wracking...cuz I'm even mentioned in the 'press release.' Again, cool & exciting but makes me nervous cuz I want to show a good variety of stuff I like to make.

It's hard to pick...though I've been making/have made some pieces particularly for this show. And the theme is "Shades of Green...or in other words, Detroit FINALLY coming out of the snow...aka: the first day of spring"...which is the day this will be held on, March 20th.

So wish me luck! And the link is below, if you'd like to see what it's all about. And oh yeah, the great name drop, which is the most accurate description of my art YET. (The awesome lady putting this show together, Laura, & I came up with it...well honestly, I just chose the words-gritty, glitter, feminist, and deconstruction-and she came up with the rest. Love it! Makes me smile!)

Shades of Green (click me!)

Tonight at 12:01 AM I'm going to be...

...falling down the rabbit hole as I FINALLY see Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. Oh MYYYY! I really can't believe the time is here. As many of you know I have been waiting SO long for this. (I believe my 2nd post on here was about Alice, or it could've been my first.) And even before hearing rumors that Burton was thinking about doing an Alice film, I often said to Mike..."It would be so cool if he took on Alice or Oz"

Then I started to think "He should take on Alice...I could see it." And so when I heard the news that Johnny was the Mad Hatter, I freaked out...yeah, literally! Tim Burton is (hands down) my favorite director (seen almost every one of his films at the theatre...going back to Batman I & 2 when I was just a kid)...and Alice has always been very fascinating & inspiring to me.

So yeahhhhh, this is a BIG deal. ^_^ I'm going to purchase my advance tix soon and oh no, just wait til I have those in my hands...I will be jumping up & down, lol. Take care friends!~

Happy Birthday to...ME!

Happy 1 Year Blogoversary to ME!

• Hi ya. Today marks my 1 year Blogoversary. Woweeee, only a year?...has felt like more for some reason. And not that THAT is a bad thing. ;) Don't you love the cake pic I found above...ooooo, I definitely would love to have a cake like that around...even just to stare at because it's so awesome! ^_^

• Anyways, I haven't been around much to blog (have you noticed?)...cuz things have been a little hectic. I'm hoping I can write more (because of course I want to!) once I'm on a lil' break from work at the end of the month. I've missed my bloggy friends, though I'm happy some of you are on FaceBook. That is SO great!

• Well, just wanted to say HI and BIG THANKS for following my blog, commenting on the things I show you through my Looking-Glass, and for just being there. You are some great friends & followers. Hope we can stay in touch for a while through here. And jeez, blogging has definitely helped me in so many ways. Can't think of NOT having my blog at this point! • Hi friends. How are you? I'm good. Of course I haven't forgotten about my blog or YOU, just been a bit busy. So just wanted to say hope you enjoy your holiday and if you have time off (yay, that I do, and I need it!) enjoy that as well. Will any of you be going out on Black Friday for any BIG sales (so so early in the morning)? Jeez, I've seen that some sales start as early as 3 AM, yikes! I usually like to go later in the afternoon/evening...if I do go...which is a maybe.

• After working 3 Black Friday's at Toys R Us, there's nooooo way I would go out...unless maybe Dunnys were half off or something awesome like that, lol. Ok, my CD has ended so I should get going too. I really do miss you my dear bloggy friends...and I give thanks to you today for all your sweet comments, thoughtful concern, and BLOG love year round! You all rock, but you know that already. ;)

• Take care & blog at ya later. (OH and my 1 year Blogoversary is coming up soon. On the 2nd of December. I'll do my best to do a post that day...I mean it's such a special day, I shouldn't even say I would only try! Something's a-coming very soon

Well, I know I said I'd be busy & I am a bit (today is actually my only day to myself-no work basically-before the art show Thursday)...and as I am not feeling too well today, I decided to get ahead of myself for once. You know how you want to occupy your time when you're sick so you try to avoid feeling sick? Yeah, that's what I did.

• Wellllll, as some of you may know my One Year Blogoversary is coming up...in early December BUT I want to do the giveaway in November because it's gonna be BOTH a BIG win and BIG question that I'm going to ask. I'll give you some clues right now...just because. ^_^

It's...my 500th post! Yay!!!

I can't believe I've done 500 posts! Wow, where does the time fly to? AND I still have about a month and a half until my 1 Year Blogoversary. So these are my silly pics I got taken at a local mall...while looking for the perfect skirt for my art show...and I found it. It's awesome. Pics of all my clothes & accessories to come...at some point. Right now just want to finish up the giveaway because after that I will be doing one of the following things...and I will do it or you should definitely tell me "Eve, you can't be blogging! You MUST obey your list or else!"...^_^...

• 1) putting a hook on Female Baggage...and also packaging & dropping off my art to where the art show is taking place at (Tangent Gallery in Detroit)
• 2) cleaning up the HUGE chaos that is known as mine & Pumpkin's house
• 3) making more art for my Etsy shop so I can have more stuff available when I pass out business cards at the DAMNED art show

So that's what I gotta get on very soon. Next Saturday & Sunday is when I can drop off my art so getting that in order is a MUST MUST MUST DO!

• Oh and a FYI: I added a bunch pics from Tim Burton's Alice on the side of my page. Please take a look. And also, I apologize for not reading/commenting on all the blogs I follow. I do feel bad but things have been so hectic lately...including that I've been feeling a bit under the weather for several days now. And I'm usually really good at dodging colds & the flu. Plus October is just a really tough month for me because of certain obligations and the art show at the end of the month. And I never thought picking out 2 outfits would be so difficult but I did it...maybe I need just a couple of lil' things but after that, I'm done!

• Oh and one more thing! Today I found an awesome purse (Note to Queen)...one of the last IMPORTANT things I needed for DAMNED...at the Salvation Army of all places. And it was such a great deal-only 1.49, wow! But heck I deserve it after all the crap I donate to 'em, haha. Have a nice holiday weekend (US friends)

Hi friends. It's Friday and the start of the weekend. And the start of the Labor Day (holiday) weekend for my US friends/followers. I hope you have a good time...whatever you'll be doing.

Me, hm...all I know is 1-there's a birthday party for one of my boyfriend's nieces...and 2-there's a concert I may be going to on Sunday. I say "may" because I'm still unsure if I'll be going to it...sadly, it is in a part of downtown that isn't so...good...So I really wouldn't like to drive down there alone. And my friend (Jenny) feels the same BUT if we are together downtown, I'd feel a lot better...and I've been there before. Just not alone. So I hope to go but we'll see...as you can see it's a bit complicated.

OH that picture above! Well, it's on my fridge (got it from TARGET, woohoo) and it's magnetic. And so I choose my mood every day (though I sometimes feel more than one of those moods in a day...right, ladies?). What mood do you feel today??? I chose (well, for RIGHT now)...



...INDIFFERENT. I actually choose this one quite often. I'm not unhappy...just...indifferent. ;)

Sticky & Sweet Art Show @ 323 East Gallery

Several weeks back I went to an art show at 323 East Gallery in Royal Oak.
It was called the STICKY & SWEET show featuring works by Audrey Pongracz and Kill Taupe. I enjoy both artists work but honestly really really enjoy Audrey's work quite a lot. And was hoping to get to chat with her for a second. And yay, luckily I was able to. Mainly because I got there pretty early...for once, believe it or not!

She was SUPER cool and she let me take pics of her pieces on the walls and some of her, as you will see below. Recently, she was named BEST LOCAL ARTIST by local Detroit magazine, REAL DETROIT, which is a BIG DEAL if you ask me.

We chatted about many things and found out we had many similar interests in the art/artists we like-yay Ryden & Tara McPherson! As well as our BIG love for music and...skeleton keys! Yes, skeletons keys rule. She even had one around her neck on a necklace that I thought was pretty sweet! (She even told me a good place to find 'em-how cool!)

Had a really great time, despite the HUMIDITY-was terrible that day...and 323 didn't have any air. So that's why you won't see any pics of me...was sweating like a PIG. Ugh, gross...but anyways...if you'd like to check out Audrey's work, please click here. And for her BLOG, please click here.

Pirates for a day...

Two of my favorite pirates, Jack Sparrow...and Will Turner (Mr. Depp and Mr. Bloom aka: Swoon). But how's a girl to choose? ;} OK, let's talk about them some other time. ^_^

So the party is over...:(...but it was a lot of fun! :) I was designated photographer, as well as the hostess/captain of this adventure, so I'm not in most of the pics.
And I took SO many that I'm just gonna "DUMP" 'em in FLICKR...
one of these days.
(I'll let you know when I do.)

So our old roomie (Joe) and our soon-to-be roomie (Tom) were the only guys to show up (everyone was busy lil' bees tonight-but again it was very last minute. I even called a couple more peeps today & allllllll busy!).

But TRUST me when I say that's o.k.-these boys were quite a handful!
Yeah, 2 boys equals-very very naughty...3 boys-triple the naughtiness/craziness!
And I really didn't want a whole lot of peeps cuz I prefer just a small group anyways when it comes to 'get togethers/unbirthdays/parties.'
So it all worked out in the end.

OH MY...lemme tell you-I was SO tired half way through the party...we started around 6-ish and ended around 9 PM. My goodness, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. I didn't even want to sing when it came time to play ROCK BAND. {VERY tired Eve.} And that was the ONE thing I wanted to do for myself too! I was ready to rock to Yeah Yeah Yeahs but being the HOSTESS/CAPTAIN of this crew was more work than I thought!

Sooo, what did we do you may wonder???
Well...I kept 'em all busy with several games. Like best picture of a pirate wins a prize-of course I was the judge!...guns-not real of course...and balloons galore. Those boys sure loved those cheap balloons. It's funny what people get a kick out of. Would've never thought! I think we all needed a PARTY...even if it was a UNBIRTHDAY party. And I think MIKE had a really good time-and that's all that matters to me. Awww, ain't I so nice?

Oh and we did the typical stuff too...
like ate pizza, drank ROOT BEER-argh!, had b-day cake, opened gifts...
you know what I mean. :)

(oh & Mike goes by the name PUMPKIN sometimes...
don't ask me why exactly...he just likes it. His name in OUR band with TOM is Pumpkin Pig...so that's partially how he got it. And my name, EVE, came from the band too. Oh & Tom's name (in the band) is TinKnocker. Again, we just picked crazy names. Mine is technically EVE HAVOC...in the band. But as you know, I go by Eve Noir here as well as for my art.)

Throwing my boyfriend a party today...

...I'll have pictures/post to come eventually. Today is technically his UNBIRTHDAY but we are celebrating early because his best friend will be leaving the state for a month (due to work). And I planned & did the party all my myself-woooo hooo. My first time at it, so I'll see how it goes. (I'm hoping we'll get a good amount of friends/family...kinda threw it together at the last second...but it still should be fun!)
