...and then I saw that there was more Kitty-stuff inside, lots of candy, yum...and some cool buttons. Thanks so much Sullivan & Carien, it made me smile. ^_^

Shirt, Tin, and a few gifts from friends

Here's an Emily the Strange shirt I got when Hot Topic had a half off their half off clearance sale a while back. Yes, I haven't even worn it yet...I have one too many shirts...but when they're that cheap (5-6 dollars), it's hard to resist.

A Skelanimal small tin box from Target. Only 1.99! My fave Skelanimal there is the owl, Oliver. Now on to some gifts I've received from some friends lately...

First a really nice cross-stitched bag w/Hello Kitty on it made by Carien (Sullivan's owner). She knows I love Hello Kitty! And I love this bag lots. She also sent me the two pins on the bag. Thanks so much Carien!

Next is a box (a small mint box) of LOTS of buttons from my friend at the library, Karen. She hand-picked them...I like the colors lots. Thank you Karen!
And last but not least is my long-awaited surprise gift from Erin (Queen of Clearance). Drumroll........

An awesome plate of Alice (and all the characters) from Wonderland. How thoughtful and sweet of her! Thank you so much Erin, I love it! It's exactly my style! ;)
Big thanks to all my very cool friends for the nice gifts. I appreciate you thinking of me!
Take care~

Happy 9=9=9 Everyone!

Hi friends. Happy 9=9=09 to you all! Very cool day indeed! (and it's Dunny Day too...woo hoo!)

Well, sadly I wasn't able to go to my concert last night. The girl I was supposed to go with couldn't go and I barely had any time to find someone to go with me...and the people who possibly could've went, were busy, of course. But that's ok (as much as I hate to say it)...I'll just never buy a ticket in the future without knowing for sure (atleast 75% sure) that someone will be going with me. Live and learn right?

Anyways Dunny series 2009 comes out today...but they don't come out until later tonight. And I'll be working so sadly I can't pick any up today...but maybe tomorrow...though I work at noon. I just might get too anxious and go to LIFT beforehand...I may not be able to contain myself. ;) I'll see how I feel about it by tomorrow.

In the meantime, I discovered a new blog. It's all about pop culture...and...and...ART TOYS. I rarely find any blogs that I'm like "That's my kinda blog!" anymore so if you're interested please check out it out HERE. OK, well, I have a somewhat busy day ahead of me. I'm off to an appointment as soon as I'm done typing this. So please enjoy 9-9-9 fellow friends & followers and chat with you later. ~XoX, Eve

The one and only...Sludge Duck

SORRY if this post is all one paragraph!!! This is not intentional. If I can't get it to go back to paragraphs, please know it's this laptop. I truly apologize...and I figured I won't delete this whole post because of it. I don't think it's too long. Again, so sorry!
I thought Sludge Duck was a good name for him. It's fitting, right? I love the colors of blue, black, and white...so I made him tonight. He probably won't look like this by tomorrow...he's still drying. I still hope he maintains his sludge-ness. :) I like mixing colors and just pouring out the color straight from the bottle...what fun. He's on a hard piece of 8 x 10 canvas. He's not glued but I think the paint should hold him down...and in place. (Crossing my fingers)
I probably won't get to blog tomorrow...going to a concert after work. So that's why I wanted to atleast post my newest lil' art piece above. Oh, and Wednesday will be somewhat-busy too...hm, but I'll atleast read the blogs I follow at work...can't comment there sadly (that part of it is blocked, ugh).
Sooo, how was everyone's long holiday weekend? Well, atleast mine felt long but I needed that...felt great to not drive my bf into work at 6 AM for 3 days in a row. Plus I did (believe this!) work on my art room. But only a bit...I organized all of my CD's, DVD's, Books...next step is the actual art stuff. Previously (before TJ moved in), all my CD's/etc...were in the computer room, but then we had to move stuff (TJ moved into our basement)...and then that stuff had to be moved into my art room. But it's ok in there...I just can't get paint/etc... on my precious books and movies and music. But I don't usually get too crazy in there...so I'm sure it'll be fine.
OK, um...I have an award a couple posts below for my FABULOUS followers/fellow blog authors to have. And if you don't have a blog/want to do the FAB award...you can always just say a few things you are currently obsessed with...on that post. I'm going to make you scroll down to it! :)
Enjoy your week friends & talk to you soon~

Thanks to MEJIS for this award. And I'm doing the same as her, and passing it on to ALL of my followers...because your blogs are ALL fabulous!!!

Honest Scrap Award, thanks Mejis!!!

Thank you, thank you to MEJIS at Did I Say That Outloud? for this lovely award. It's the Honest Scrap award...and I think this makes the 3rd time I've received it...and you know what they say, third times a charm, right!?? She also passed on another award, and I will get to that one later. As with one Ms. Cindy @ Twas the Brillig gave me a million years ago...sorry Cindy-I didn't forget about the Zombie Chickens!...And it's not like I get a bazillion awards but sometimes I just put 'em off...and I figured "Can't put 'em off anymore...I have no excuses!!!"

OK, this is how this award works...as taken from Mejis post...thanks Mejis!!!

1. “The Honest Scrap” award is not one to hold all to your self but it must be shared!

2. First, the recipient has to tell 10 true things about themselves in their blog that no one else knows.

3. Second, the recipient has to pass along this prestigious award to 10 more bloggers.

4. Third, those 10 bloggers all have to be notified they have been given with this award.

5. Those 10 bloggers that receive this award should link back to the blog that awarded them “The Honest Scrap’ award.

K, (Thinking Cap On)...

My HONEST LIST

10-I've probably spent MORE money on CD's/Music than anything else I own...including my car. (OK, it's used but STILL!) In other words, I have a HUGE passion for music. I am listening to some now...

9-I don't typically like or watch SCARY/GOREY films. I scare way too easily and I have nightmares.

8-If I HAD to go deaf or blind I would choose BLIND. Yes, even as a struggling visual artist because (again) MUSIC is probably my biggest love in life. Would miss seeing things but think I would miss hearing things more.

7-I've met pretty much all the musicians I've wanted to meet in my life. (Exceptions might be Kathleen Hanna, Bjork, and Tori Amos.) But there's ONE musician I would give my left ear to meet and his name is Tim SKOLD. I'm dead serious.

6-I haven't read a book in...over a year. Atleast. Sad, I know. :(

5-I enjoy WHITE NOISE when I go to sleep. (Mike is the complete opposite.) This is probably because of the fact that I lived very close to an expressway for most of my life.

4-I don't really eat FAST FOOD much. Take out, yes. Fast food, hardly ever...besides Mc D's breakfast.

3-If you looked at my shirts in my closet, you would see that MOST are black. I LOVE color but black just seems to look best on me I think.

2-I LOVE to write on chalkboards...or nowadays the white boards w/markers. Hm, don't know why!

1-I BLOG when I should be cleaning my house...but doesn't everyone?!?

Now on to the 10 Bloggees that shall receive this award from me...And they are...(and sorry if I gave this to you in the past btw, but heck we want to know MORE about you & it means I HEART you very much by giving you more!)....

BunnyKissd @ Diary of a crazy rabbit lady, too!

Emily @ Follow the White Rabbit

The Frog Queen @ Frog on the Pumpkin

Jennylee @ It can only get better...

Queen of Clearance @ The Queen of Clearance

Sullivan @ The life and travels of Sullivan Mc Pig

Cindy @ Twas the Brillig

Boyd @ Boyd's World

Bersaba @ Bersaba's Scribblings

and...

Alice @ Alice found some doors

(though I don't think she 'does' awards but her blog is UBER cool!)

OK, now pass 'em along my fellow blog authors...and have a good (whatever day you are reading this!) one.....

Saturday 9: I Want You Back

Saturday 9: I Want You Back

1. Where were you when you heard that Michael Jackson died?
My parents house

2. How do you think that he will be remembered?
For his music mainly...so many people loved his music...and sadly for the way he looked (there's no denying his face/body has been altered...and sadly for those rape charges. But I hope he's remembered most for his music.

3. What was your favorite Jackson tune?
Billie Jean

4. Did you watch the original Charlie’s Angels?
No...don't think I've ever seen an episode from start to finish....maybe just clips of 'em

5. Did someone you know have that poster of Farrah?
No, I'm actually too young (WoW!!!) for that...was born after the show came out

6. Did you consider her battle with cancer heroic?
Hm, I really don't know much about her battle with cancer honestly but of course I would think it would be heroic.....anyone living with a disease like that goes through HELL, I've seen it firsthand and I feel these people are VERY heroic

7. Were you a fan of The Tonight Show Starring Johnnie Carson?
I saw clips here & there, again too young to have watched it. I was born in '79...not sure when it started or ended off the top of my head

8. Did you like Ed McMahon on the show?
From what I saw he seemed funny. And he seemed like a nice guy in general (from what I saw over the years)

9. What else will you remember McMahon for?
C'mon...do you REALLY have to ask!?? YOU get 3 out of 4 stars!!! From STARSEARCH of course!!! And hm, didn't he do something recently...can't remember.

I feel sad that all these people died roughly around the same time. I hope they are resting in peace now.

Please play along with Saturday 9 here. (yes, i know it's Sunday...but I'm 2 days behind cuz of my power going out!)

Hello & welcome to my MAD TEA PARTY!!!

Hello there!
And welcome to my MAD TEA PARTY.
I'll be your host for the next few moments.
My name is EVE...very nice to meet you...
but first you must...

...Sooo....
Did you drink it?
OK, good.

Now, we can start the picture part
aka: picture party...
and then I'll do some Tim Burton Alice ramblings & more...
at the bottom.

First up.....

{FYI: I wrote more about this 'stuff' at the bottom of ALL these pics.}
But I'd like ya to know that....
these great stampers were purchased off a really cool website...
that caters to ALL of your ALICE needs.
It's called GOREY DETAILS.
I put their website link all the wayyyy at the bottom.
So you just MUST read on now...
I'm bad, I know! ;}

I just opened my own ETSY art shop last week called...
LOOKING GLASS GALLERY.
And I wanted these stampers,
so when people purchase something from my site,
I can give 'em some nice stampings!
I really LOVE 'em!
Some lovely postcards that I purchased from Gorey Details.

One of my collages I made with some ALICE images.
It is called THE BIRTHDAY GIRL...
AND...
is for sale on my ETSY page.

This is another half-Alice collage that I recently made.
It's called...
Curious Poe & Curiouser Alice.

The inside of a small wood box I painted/etc...
Also on my ETSY page.

Next up...

One of the original illustrations for Lewis Carroll's book.
I love these illustrations very much.
I use 'em often in my ART...
but I do alter 'em...
so 'technically' I'm not stealing.
I think these illustrations are wonderful!!!

A nice painting I found on ETSY (sorry can't recall her name at the moment).
All the MAIN characters are here...
Alice...Mad Hatter...White Rabbit...and Queen of Hearts.
I am most like ALICE and the White Rabbit.
WHO R U most like?...
even if it's not one of the characters above.
Just being curious as usual....;}

How about another TEA PARTY pic!??

Emily the Strange having her own MAD TEA PARTY.

The first picture of WONDERLAND...
from Tim Burton's upcoming film.
STUNNING is all I can say.

And this young lady, MIA,
will be the new face of ALICE...
by Tim Burton.
She's very pretty...

...And I HEART her dress lots!!!
I mean skirt...well, forget it,
I love everything she's wearing...
right down to her awesome lil' boots!

I like this cute lil' dollie of ALICE.
Would love to get her but very pricey!
Alice stuff can sometimes be very pricey-OUCH!

Oh and I'm definitely a bit like the Cheshire Cat.
but aren't we all?
I mean "I'm mad, you're mad, we're all mad here!"
^_^

PIPOS makes these adorable Alice figures.
This is one of the Cheshire Cat.
I just adore him!

Artist Jasmine Beckett-Griffith made this painting of Alice & Lewis Carroll.
I HEART it very much and own a print of it.
Her ALICE prints (well, all her prints) are very reasonably priced.
Check out her site HERE.

This was the first Jasmine print I purchased.
It's called CLOCKWORK ALICE...
And I love it!!!
I can't help but to want all of her ALICE prints now.

Soooooo, that's the end of the picture part or picture party...
next for some words from me to YOU...

First I would like to say I'm very excited about participating in this, as I love EVERYTHING Alice in Wonderland (hence the name of my blog & I chat about Alice-related things from time to time too). I really love this idea of "party hopping"...& I hope to be a part of more to come! I think it will be great to hop around to other blogs to see their tea parties & what they'll chat about.

Sooo...I don't know about YOU, but I am super super EXCITED about the new Alice film. As I said, I HEART almost everything Alice-related and Tim Burton happens to be my favorite director of all-time...so this film will be like a DREAM COME TRUE to me. (Have you seen any pics yet? I posted some in a fairly recent post...and they look AWESOME! I am beyond excited! Everyone looks so great & Wonderland looks beautiful!)

So I would like to chat about 2 things that you may be interested in. One you may already know about but I'll throw it out there anyways. And that is, if you're ever looking for really nice (as well as unique) Alice In Wonderland merch you should definitely check out Gorey Details. They have a HUGE selection and most of it (the Alice stuff mainly) I have NEVER seen in any store. Their ALICE section can be found HERE. I've given them business a couple times now. I have to admit they are a bit slow with shipping because they carry SO much. But good things come to those who wait, right!??!

The second {and last} thing I would like to share is (ahem, shameless self promotion but hey you guys are ALICE fans right!??)...I JUST opened my very own ETSY shop called Looking Glass Gallery. I don't have many items up right now but hm, 3 out of the 6 art pieces are ALICE-related. Alice is one of my 'specialities' but I do other types of art as well. So if you're ever curious, please take a look at my gallery...which can be found HERE.

Thank you very much for stopping by my MAD TEA PARTY. I hope you enjoyed your time here. If you leave me a comment, I will do my very best-est to 'hop' over to your party too! Have lots of fun celebrating this wonderfully MAD day!

To participate in this MAD TEA PARTY or to simply check it out, please visit HERE to see what's happening! Thank you so much A Fanciful Twist for creating such a great idea! Hope you'll be doing it again next year!~

Pure Trance by Junko Mizuno (and please visit this blog)

Umeko & Takeko -- Junko Mizuno's Pure Trance blind-box (3/20)
"Umeko & Takeko are artificial nurses created by the Director. Takeko has a calm personality whereas Umeko is a bit of a baby. They both have superior abilities in operations and their nurses' caps are not removable as they are part of their bodies."
(And YES, this particular toy(s) above...
is a 2 pack set! Sweet!!!)

Yuki & Miki -- Junko Mizuno's Pure Trance blind-box (2/20)
"When twin sisters Yuki & Miki combine their mysterious superpowers they can practice magic. If you feed the skull fresh food, their powers become even stronger."

Hello everyone. I been meaning to write a post about my newest mini figures called Pure Trance by Junko Mizuno, but something cool happened and now I'm not going to write about it (but I'm still going to direct you to a post on them). You see, a really artistic & cool lady named Emily @ Follow the White Rabbit just did a post yesterday about it...& it was really great with awesome pics among it being very well-written also. So I knew I couldn't beat that & so I asked if I could link peeps over to her page & she said that THAT was cool. (I'd like to ask people-if I can-out of courtesy.)

So please click
HERE for her great blog post. Oh & make sure to say EVE sent ya. ;} And btw: I got the twins pictured above holding the sweet skull. But I still want more of these toys-like the nurses, they rule! I got 2 so far-I got the twin girls and a boy who smells like garbage, well not literally but that's his story. Yes, it's true-my Dunny addiction has taken a backseat as soon as I heard that these bad boys were coming out! Must...get...more...will...do...anything...for...more!!! ;}

Enjoy her post and thanks again Emily for writing such a good post & for letting me link up!~

Yay for a new blog & follower and also for an awesome deal!

I just found out about a cool blog...
that has inspired me to write more about my...
clearance/bargains/great deals.

I won't be writing about 'em every day...
though I do get some great deals on a daily basis (some times).
Sometimes I think I'm the only person in Blogger-land...
with this thing for clearance...
but nooooo,
someone is out there...very much like me, yay!

So glad to have found her blog...
Very cool!

Halloween pumpkin nail polish (glow-in-the-dark)...
for only .22 cents each.
What an awesome deal!!!
I saved 4.58, woo hoooo!

Sorry that it's blurry...I saved 8.30, yay!
And that's non-coupon savings my friends!

I just found out about a very interesting & cool blog right up my alley. It's called The Queen of Clearance. And it's exactly what it sounds like, a blog of a girl who takes much pride in her sales/clearance finds. I just knew there was someone out there similar to me & my joy of getting great deals! Might've taken a while to find another hardcore clearance-lover but yay for finally finding someone with BIG dedication to the craft of shopping-for-cheap. :)

I just started following her blog but again, it's really good & I love to see what other people get on clearance/sale. So I welcome her to following my blog too...and sorry QOC, I don't know what's up with Blogger today but it is showing I have one more follower (39 instead of 38) but your pic isn't coming up....maybe it's an early Sunday morning Blogger problem! Just wanted to let you know cuz I have never seen that happen before-totally bizarre!

Anyways, you all know I LOVE a good deal and I decided to go to Meijer to get my grocery shopping out of the way (and it rules there when it's very early-no one around & no lines, it's great!). When I was there as always I look in the clearance sections that are usually at the end caps of certain lanes. This one had the makeup/nail polish/girly stuff. So I found 2 Halloween pumpkin (glow in the dark) nail polishes for .22 cents each-can you say score???!!! And I did my grocery shopping too and usually I save a bit more but today I saved $8.30 in non-coupon savings. Pretty good considering I only spent about 48 bucks.

So if you like seeing my clearance/sales stuff, you should definitely check out The Queen of Clearance's blog, which can be found HERE. She has gotten some great deals in the past & continues to look for & get awesome ones. Yay, she's very much like me and my little thing I have for clearance/sales.

So don't call me a shopaholic
(ahem, Diane), just call me a clearance-aholic...if you want to set the record straight! Ha ha....;}
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!!!~

A very sweet award....that's being passed on of course

Hola friends. Hope your weekend is going well. Mine is alright. I got some nice carnival pics and I hope to put 'em up soon. I will probably do 2 postings of 'em. Keep an eye out for those.

OK, yesterday I got this very nice Blogger Award (pictured above) from Mejis @ Did I Say That Outloud? (and thanks again Mejis!). And it's one of the coolest awards I've got yet because of why I received it. So please read below...

Here are the rules: This award is bestowed on to blogs that are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

Here's the 8 blogs that I chose...(and please stop by them 'cause they are really cool blogs written by fun & sweet people!)

{OH & it's called the LUV YA Award too. Just found that out!}

Boyd @ Boyd's World!

Cindy @ Twas the Brilling and the Slithy Toves...

Demented Wench @ Demented Wench's Blog

Diane @ Good Mourning, Glory!

Dracenea @ Rabid Reflections

The Frog Queen @ Frog on the Pumpkin

Ghoul Friday @ My Ghoul Friday

Sullivan @ The Life & Travels of Sullivan McPig

I just want to personally say to all of these bloggers what fun it has been getting to know you through your blogs. You're all very cool & unique in your own (wonderful) way and I hope to stay 'blogging friends' for a while to come. Take care.~

A Swap with Sullivan, yay!!!

Recently I did a swap with the owner of Sullivan, from The Life & Travels of Sullivan McPig blog, and it was so much fun! I love getting new & interesting things-especially from faraway lands. Ha ha...well, you know what I mean because it came alllll the wayyyyy over to Detroit from The Netherlands! And that's pretty far to me. :}

So this is what I saw when I opened up my box. Yay and a few wrapped gifts-did I ever say how much I LOVE surprises?!!? I saved those for last. Here's what surprises were in my box....OH, and the only thing I knew for sure I was getting was some buttons because Sullivan's owner's OH (other half) designed one. If you click on the pictures to enlarge 'em, he did the one that's green with a white goat design, very cool! I love everything inside. OK, finally, here's the stuff I received below...

Just LOOK at all this cool stuff! Everything from yummy black licorice (so so good, not like the typical licorice around here for sure!) to cool children illustrated cards to a CD by a Dutch band called Within Temptation, which reminds me, I have to put 'em into Mike's I-tunes. Doh!!!

Of course I loved everything she sent but these are some of my very faves. They include: a small stitched bag (that had the pins in 'em and that Carien made too-which is even better!), Cute As Hell notebook, the licorice, Hello Kitty candy spray-woo for HK, a small black figurine, and the pig game with cute lil' rubber-y pigs, awwww. I don't understand what to do in the game though (I think it was mentioned in one of Sullivan's blog posts)...since the directions aren't in English. Thanks so much Carien for the lovely gifts!

If you'd like to see my gifts to Sullivan & Carien, please click HERE. OK, it looks like a lot and...well, it is a lot but it's lots of lil' things & letters/cards/stickers/things like that about/from the USA...and Detroit things too like C-Pop's business card to stickers from one of my fave toy stores Pink Ghost. Thanks again & if you haven't seen Sullivan's blog before, you should check it out. It's a lot of fun! Take care everyone & have a good day.~

The WINNER of my giveaway is...

...Cindy,

...from the lovely blog Twas the Brillig and the Slithy Toves. Her guess was $7.07 and the correct answer was $8.98. (Oh & if you already haven't, please check out her cool blog!) All that participated (which I greatly appreciate) guessed much higher, so sometimes it's just good to go with a lower guess...but then again sometimes not. Either way it worked this time around for CINDY. Please give her BIG Congrats! Also she will be getting an extra special (small) piece of hand-altered art made by me in her prizepack. I hope she's curious about that. Hint Hint: It is a very useful item for us ladies. ;}

I don't know when my next giveaway will be but I will try to mix it up (on what to do) each time. I liked this one with the answer being forwards & backwards. Thanks for thinking a bit differently for this one my peeps! I thought it was a cool idea. ^_^

All I need from you Cindy is your home address. Please send it my way at my gothiclolita@innocent.com email address. And then I'll be packing & shipping it on its merry way as soon as I get your info. ^_^

Thanks again everyone & big big BIG congrats from me to you Cindy!

BTW: Sorry I did this post a bit early...I'm just wayyyyy too tired today. OH MY, I stayed up so late last night & now I MUST pay for it. I'm planning on taking a mid-day nap....so I'm doing this from the (back) work computers (where students/patrons can use the internet).

OK, adios & be chatting with you soon!!!~

Happy Friday, what a long week!

It was a very long week for me and I don't know why since Monday was a holiday. I think it was because it has been soooooooo slow at work the past few days I was there. Still feels like we're on break though it's the beginning of the Summer Semester. I mean I have no idea what to do at a certain point...I get computer-ed out, I can't blog either, and we aren't allowed to read. Yes, that's right I can't READ a book in front of patrons/students but I can look online...and browse & even BUY stuff and they don't care. Makes sense, right?

I had just bought stampers and decided to test 'em out...maybe I can make my art & stuff like that there. :) Well, probably not but I did make Dracenea a small card stamped because I literally was B-O-R-E-D beyond belief. Minutes were feeling like...hours....hours like...days!

Woweeee, snail mail is super fast here in Michigan these days. I just sent Diane something and I sent Boyd his prize pack from the Goth giveaway and they got 'em the day after I sent them. Pretty fast. Oh and Boyd did a really sweet & cool post ALL about what I sent him. Check it out HERE if you'd like to take a peek. Very nice of him. And I'm always VERY happy when someone else is grateful & happy from the gifts that I give 'em-yay!!!

Well, this will be all for now. Have to get ready and all that stuff 'cause I have an appointment soon. Turning in all that darn Medicaid paperwork. I have to get there a lil' early to talk to the lady who handles that stuff to make sure I did everything right. Just can't wait until it's out of my hands for good!

Enjoy your weekend everyone and here's a song from what Boyd is talking about...and what I also sent Diane. {I wasn't sure when to blog about it because I'm still tweaking some things-not the songs, just the 'art' I send with it.} Basically, it's a compilation of songs I like from 2009, so far. Most of the artists I've talked about either on this blog or my Goth blog. So if you'd like one, PLEASE email me & gimme your address. Um yes, it's a kinda a pirate thing (as Boyd says), so ssshhh...well, not really because I'm not selling it. OK, gotta run...I mean walk fast...I mean slowly move to make my bed. ;}
