Hm...

...this computer is acting odd and won't let me go on FaceBook now. I'm telling you, it's this crazy laptop!!!

So maybe, just maybe, I'll have to do that self-indulgent post I spoke of before. I'll see how it goes tomorrow. But I honestly expect FB to be the same...cuz well, cuz this laptop wants to ruin me! Mu ha ha ha....

Take care friends & maybe, just maybe, a BIG OL' self-indulgent post will be coming your way very soon.

XoX~Eve

BTW: New COMMENTS will not be moderated...once again. And again, it's just because it's easier for me at the moment. I know it's not really a big deal...but just wanted to let you all know that "Yes, I have been messing with the options again." Adios~

DUNNY 2009...coming 9-9-09

Just found out about this. As you can see above there's a ToFu Dunny in the middle. Plus there's going to be a Gloomy Bear Dunny (not pictured...but he's his regular pink w/blood), how sweet is that?!? Can't wait!!!

I do apologize...

My best friend in the world, BIBI, laying next to me...
she's the bestest!!!

...to the Blogger authors I follow. I am not commenting much right now because of what I said in one of my previous comments (on a post). I honestly don't like using the laptop and it is especially sucky on Blogger. Seriously! But I am reading your posts...as much as I can. I just don't like spending a lot of time on here w/this POS laptop. And I think we'll be getting our new computer soon... All we really need to do is go out for the needed stuff to build it and of course the not-so-fun part...buying it. Which shouldn't be too much, according to our roomie...and he built his also. So hopefully he's right.

Until then, I do apologize (again). I am thinking of you fellow followers/friends/Blog authors and I really do appreciate you commenting on my posts.

Sooo...an update...well, I got back from the art show/Royal Oak a little while ago. It was pretty packed so I didn't take any pictures in there. :( But I did take a few random cellphone pics in the cool Salvation Army in Royal Oak. :) Oh and at the SA, I got a cute PIG picture and a nice little bottle to pour cream out of for my coffee. Didn't buy anything at the art show (prints or jewelry or anything artsy). But as I said got the picture, bottle, as well as a hardcover book of Alice In Wonderland w/Through the Looking-Glass in it (always the greatest!) from Barnes & Noble in RO too. Was only $7.99...and I don't have a hardcover of Alice, if you can believe that!

All in all I had a very nice time with my friend April at the show and walking around downtown Royal Oak. Kinda upset that LIFT (toy store & art gallery) isn't open late on the weekends...only til 8pm...but that's o.k. I had a good time regardless. A LIFT skatedeck show is coming up soon...so I'll prob be going to that.

Once again-enjoy your weekend everyone. I'm just about ready to listen to some music and go to bed. It's late...it's late...it's late!!! Night night and take care.~

Burton's ALICE: Picture #1-Queen of Hearts

Queen of Hearts (Red Queen) with pig
as played by Helena Bonham Carter

Hello friends. I wanted to show you the latest thing I found out about Tim Burton's ALICE in Wonderland...and that is several pictures of the cast holding certain animals that are also in the film...in some shape or form. These are some great shots. I may be a lil' MIA lately...as I've been writing over at my personal blog (even did 2 posts today, woweee). If you're interested in that blog, lemme know, and I'll email you the link. Cuz it's hush hush (as you probably know as I've said this before)...because I do not go by EVE there...but I don't go by my real name either. ;)

So I will probably post another picture tomorrow of a member of this awesome cast for what will be a WONDERFUL film. Two of my favorite things EVER-Tim Burton & Alice. So So So excited...hm, I think I'll see it more than The Dark Knight at the theatre (that was my most times seeing a film at the show-4 times, including an Imax Theatre).

Take care & be chatting with you later~

Hm, maybe it's time to get a bit DARK & creepy!!!

Last year's flier/card for DAMNED

I just picked up a flier today about a local art show happening soon called DAMNED II. It took place last year (on Devil's Night, they call it in Detroit...the night before Halloween) and this marks its second year. Anyways you can submit your art (for FREE) and there's really nothing to lose by showing your stuff. So as the back of the flier says: "Artists of all mediums are welcome to submit their work for review. There are no restrictions on genre or content but the more beautifully disturbing or powerfully instrospective, the better."

And I've made some DARKer stuff in the past (another reason for me to get the rest of my old art pieces out of storage at the parents' house). One piece comes to mind in particular...and I'm glad I didn't sell it at the art show I had (back in the day). I actually found a picture of it recently (used to be good at taking pics of my art) and said "OH, I made that!" It may seem a lil' dark to people but I love this piece.

I don't have a scanner so let me try describing it a bit (btw: don't know the name of this piece)....it's a grey/black/silver metallic painting with a silver metallic (painted) plastic doll's body (from the waist up) glued in a spot of dark red paint...aka: blood, at the bottom of the painting. I glued wire (w/stars on it that you buy at Xmas or other holidays) from the top of the painting to the pool of "blood." I honestly don't know what I was trying to say with this piece but when I look back on my old art, that one stands out to me for some reason. Was really happy with the end result...and many of my old paintings (10 years back or so), I don't really like much now.

BUT, I'm not going to use THAT painting/mixed media piece if I were to show my stuff for possible display @ DAMNED. Hm....I don't know what I'd make. Maybe a painting...maybe something with mirrors....I'll have to think about it. BUT I got 2 months to get my stuff in so I want to try making atleast 3-4 pieces.

If you'd like to check out their website, please click HERE. I really wanted to go last year but couldn't make it....maybe I will this time around. As the flier says it's "A Dark Fine Art Exhibition with Formal Masquerade Ball." Sounds like fun!!!

Enjoy your weekend~

Hopefully...

...I will be posting some of my new ART pieces & my business card between today...and the next few days....well....let's just say the entire week in general.

I did some more art...2 boxes and one photo frame. YIKES, that's 3 more things in addition to my 3 other (USA/Independence Day) pieces. I've been a busy lil' beeeeeeee!!! I feel that I'm kinda late on the 4th of July stuff but it's America-themed...doesn't say FOURTH OF JULY/INDEPENDENCE DAY on 'em. And IDK if peeps would really be interested in USA/red-white-blue stuff (I mean c'mon look at the shape of the economy!??)...but hmm...it's weird to say you HATE your country and be living in it, ya know?

There's no denying that I think about living in other places all the time (well, mainly to just get out of the black hole that is known as Michigan)...but would I REALLY like it there!?? (out of Michigan...out of the USA?!!)....Hmm...IDK until I tried it I suppose. I'm not very political but of course I have some views...I really don't like the idea of bringing 'em up on a blog-but that's just me. I WILL say this much (just because I KNOW lots of peeps feel the same way & cuz it's not TOO political)...I couldn't be happier that The W is out of office. Been waiting for that since....ohhh, the day he got in office. ;}

OK, I said it...now that is all for now my friends.

Be chatting with you soon.~

Big ALICE IN WONDERLAND (by Burton) Update w/PICS!

Alice in what looks to be the flower garden...look closer....
you can see creepy faces on the flowers...
LOVE this pic and the beautiful gate.

It's the WHITE RABBIT...and he's...
LATE LATE LATE!!!

ALICE will be played by a 19 year old (not very well known)...
Australian actress named...
Mia Wasikowska.
Please click on her name to find out more about her.
She DEFINITELY looks the part!
Love her dress!

Anne Hathaway as the WHITE QUEEN
(she looks really beautiful!)

Helena Bonham Carter as the RED QUEEN
(she looks freakin' AWESOME!!!)

Last but not least...
HERE's....
Johnny (Depp)
as the MAD HATTER.
(He's looks MAD MAD MAD...
and I LOVE it!)

OMG I just have to do this post & NOW, because the news is getting around fast, and I gotta stay on top of this. It is my BLOGGING DUTY! ;} And this is Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland. When I was first thinking about doing a blog, I kinda wanted to do it in anticipation for his ALICE film (since I knew it was in-the-making or in-the-thought-process 6+ months back)...doing updates, etc...but this blog turned into more than that...and I'm happy with that but of course ALICE is a big focus here...and Tim Burton is my favorite director EVER so it was a match made in my heaven! ;}

So first I found out about today's ALICE news HERE. That was when I was at work. Then I found out a lil' more on USA Today's website. And then my blogging friend over at Follow The White Rabbit did a post HERE. So READ/SEE all of these posts & pics. I can't really add too much besides I saw the picture of ALICE walking through the gate & was in AWE!!! A-MAZ-ING! And Johnny looks awesome, Helena looks perfect-can't wait to hear her say "OFF WITH HER HEAD!", Anne looks so pretty all in white, and Mia looks innocent and curious as the leading lady-ALICE. It's gonna rule & you know I'll be there opening night!

3 cheers for ALICE...it's gonna be quite a sight to see!
Take care~

Taken from Wikipedia today...

Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton

An Australian actress named Mia Wasikowska was cast as Alice. The 19 year old featured in shows such as In Treatment and Defiance. The original start date was May 2008.[7] Torpoint and Plymouth will be used for filming from September 1—October 14. These will be scenes set in the Victorian era. During this time, filming will take place in Antony House in Torpoint.[8] 250 local extras were chosen in early-August.[9] [10] Other production work will reside in London.[11] The film was originally to be released in 2009, but was pushed to March 5, 2010.[12]

Johnny Depp will play the Mad Hatter, Matt Lucas, star of Little Britain, has recently been cast as both Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Helena Bonham Carter will be playing the Red Queen, Stephen Fry is to play The Cheshire Cat, Anne Hathaway has been cast as The White Queen, Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar, and Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts.

And dear Demented Wench, IDK why there's still no name for the White Rabbit! Hmm....curious!~

Remember how...

...I saw Fischerspooner recently? And they were SO freakin' awesome live?!! Well, Mike just told me today that they're gonna be on the channel, LOGO, at midnight this Sunday. (LOGO is primarily a 'gay' channel with some really really good stuff on it, including Rupaul's Drag Race-which I always wanted to post about but never did, darn!) And it looks like Casey Spooner (singer and one half of electronica performance art band Fischerspooner) will be chatting about "the business of art and the business of entertainment."

Well, that's what I saw from watching a short clip that was a bulletin on MySpace today. I'm gonna assume he'll be talking about other stuff as well but I can't really tell from the, again, very short clip. AND they will be broadcasting their sweet video for "We Are Electric" then as well. So if you can, watch it, cuz they rule! This is what their bulletin says: FS are hosting NewNowNext on LOGO this coming Sunday the 14th with a rebroadcast of the video for "We Are Electric."

But since the video is so sweet (and yes CASEY was wearing THAT outfit at the show-amazing!)....I'd like to post it here anyways. ;} Enjoy!~

Last chance to take a guess....

....for my giveaway. I may announce the winner tonight. So please check back later, that is, if you'd like. And if I don't make the announcement tonight, then it'll be up tomorrow. I hope you're all VERY curious. ;} I also hope you all have a lovely day. I'll be at work for a lil' while today. And I'll see if I got anymore guesses when I get home later. Remember, you must be a follower & also live in the US to play. Thanks to all who have participated so far.

Off subject-There's a carnival coming near my town. They're getting set up for the weekend (in the mall parking lot, first time that has happened!). Just found out yesterday. I don't really like carnivals for rides or anything...maybe I'd go on the Ferris Wheel but that's usually about it...oh or the slide, woo hooooo. And I think they have yummy food too sometimes, oooo Elephant Ears!

Anyhow, what I do like about carnivals is...well, just the atmosphere (minus the sometimes gross carnies). I want to take some pics....mainly in the dark cuz I like the lights & all that stuff at night. K, that will (hopefully) be a post coming at a later time. Just wanted to give ya a lil' FYI. Adios for now.~

ART: Progress, In Progress, & Things to come (Part 1)

DIANE, you're right! I'm bad!!!
I can't stay away for long 'cuz I love you guys...
and I love Blogger TOO much! :)
Ahh, the addiction! >_<
OK, here's some of my work.
Weird because I feel like I've done more... which could be true.
See, I'm working in a very chaotic area in my ART SPACE right now.
I'm in the process of getting storage (drawers, boxes, etc...)...
so I can find things, put things away & KNOW where the heck they're at.
Yeah, what kind of artist am I?...
to not have storage...??!...
well atleast storage that doesn't include tons of plastic & paper bags!

This is some of my art SO FAR...

6:13
(Detail)

Wall clock,
red acyrlic paint, white glitter, scrap glitter pieces,
2 fake jewels, and glitter over the 6 and 13

6:13
The glue dripping down from the top (fake jewel) was an accident...
but as DIANE told me,
there's no accidents in art!
VERY TRUE!!!
It needed that extra something something. ;}

Pill Face
(front)
Looked slightly different before...
(Was a work-in-progress...
or a work-not-very-happy-with)...
Sooo...
I added blue metallic paint to make it...
SHINY & PURRTY!

Small boxes I've been working on.
Be kind w/your comments,
this is BIG experimentation. :)

I've never used boxes before...
and I'm doubting I'd sell the smaller ones
(trial & error is telling me hm, don't think so)...
not very happy with those.

BUT the round one, which is a lil' bigger...
I'm fairly happy with.
Though I'd maybe like to add a pendant/jewel to the top.

Round box:
top (red glitter) and inside (blue)

Round box
(side)

Small Gray Box
(top)

Small Gray Box
(front)

Hand Mirror & Compact Mirror
(front)

Mirrors
(back)

Another small box...top of it.
The beige is paint actually and...
not the wood...

ERRgh...! Is that a word (?!!)
VERY unhappy with this one,
above everything else...
at the moment.

But I think I'm going to keep working with it...
even if I don't sell it...
just 'cuz it's bugging me.

Front & Bottom of the above small box

In Progress:
Alice in Wonderland & Poe collage

I will be doing something with these pieces of wood soon...
& Heck YES,
that is a mirror!

Will be using the clock...
and long (painted metallic green) canvas soon
Hm about the mermaid...I chopped off all her hair though!
:)

LAST but not least.
I bought this piece of sweet looking canvas a while back.

Never knew what to do with it...
but now that Eve's Wonderland
(my very possible name for my Etsy shop),
is right around the corner,
I think I can come up with something.

MORE things to come as go along.

Thanks for taking a sneak peek.
This concludes PART 1.

Abnormally Attracted To Sin

I just love TORI...Amos that is. (Does she really need a last name?!?...There's not many Tori's out there!) I have all of her albums and let me tell you, she is quite a talented & strong woman. She's been through A LOT and I know this since I've been following her career for about 15 years now. Her greatly titled album Abnormally Attracted To Sin comes out May 19th. I already pre-ordered it off Amazon, yay!

Oh, & if you haven't seen this lady LIVE yet, you're very naughty. Her tickets may be a bit pricey but trust me when I say it's worth every penny. Can't wait to see her again. And seeing her in an outdoor venue is even cooler.
Have a good Tuesday everyone!~
