Cow Bones & a Plushie

Cow bones from Noir Leather.
Yes the real thing.
How, what, why?...
I don't know but don't really care...
cuz now they are mine, muhahahaha. ;)

BIG cute plushie from LIFT.
And his body comes apart. Fun!

Today the city of Royal Oak was having a BIG sidewalk sale. One store, Noir Leather, had lots of cool stuff including mannequin parts, old vintage knick knacks, and...bones. Yes, real bones. As in cow bones. I mean I HAD to get them. How often do you see REAL bones for sale? ;) I will keep one for my "collection" (not that I had any bones before today) and the other I will alter in some artsy way. Oh yes, and a great deal on 'em too! {5 dollars for both, wow!}

The other score I got today was on this cool PLUSHIE, from my favorite store in Royal Oak, LIFT. He is some sorta creature...the tag doesn't say what he is so I'm gonna guess he's maybe a caterpillar-whale-squishy thing. He IS super cute & cuddly...AND he comes apart too! How funny is that? I couldn't leave Royal Oak without him.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!~

Halloween at Target aka: Eve's Sanctuary

Just look at all this good stuff!

Small candy coffin tins!

I love this cute owl so much!

Mike walking around. And LOOK, he's wearing Halloween colors too. :)

Small lunchboxes!

Cute pouches!

Needless to say I want ALL these signs. Love the lollipops! Nice touch. ;)

Who doesn't want one of these cute Halloween baskets???!!!???

Well, there it is. AND, I WANT IT ALL!!! (And this isn't even close to everything they have this year. Non-Skelanimals stuff also.) I also have to say this is definitely the coolest Halloween stuff I've seen in a while. Target flat out rules! Just another reason why I think Target is one of the best stores around.
And Skelanimals are the just the cutest. I like Oliver the Owl and Diego the Bat the most. (And no, all these pictures weren't taken at once. But I figured I might as well show 'em all now.) And although I love Hello Kitty & Domo, I'm thrilled that Skelanimals are the theme this year. When I first saw this area I was like a kid in a candy store-there's so much to see and so many cute items. It's CUTE overload, ahhhh! Love the plushies, tins, pouches, and lunchboxes lots!
Hope you enjoyed these pics! Hope you have a good Wednesday and talk to you soon.~

This made my day...no, my week!

Dead Man's Bones ENTIRE album is now streaming on MySpace. How cool is that? And I just pre-ordered their album today too, sweetness. Now if only Ryan (Gosling) was touring here in Detroit. :( But maybe later they will...it looks like a short tour (right on time for Halloween though). OK, if you like "gothic, gospel, and showtunes" (as their MySpace says) you will enjoy this album. It's very creepy and just plain cool. I love the style so much. I've never heard a band do what he (and his drummer) are doing right now. It's really unique. I can't really explain it more than that...you just NEED to HEAR it for yourself. ;)

As some of you know, I always had this thing for Ryan...even without knowing much about his taste for music or his abilities as a musician. And he's just as wonderful as a musician. And he LOVES the supernatural &....HALLOWEEN, yay! And the album is also coming out right before Halloween (Oct. 6). "My Body's a Zombie for You"-yes that is a name of a song. That's so great!

Please click HERE to go to their MySpace page. I have a feeling this is going to be playing non-stop on my computer this week. :) Oh and a song I really REALLY love off the CD is now on my page. Hope you enjoy it!

Just ADD Gloss!

Yup, gloss makes everything...better...and shinier! Woooo. There's Sludge Duck above. I also added some purple drips to his black pond. So I added a gloss sealer and I like him much better this way. Both Sludge Duck and his pond have the gloss. I think you can tell a bit better in the pics below.

Sadly the hard canvas warped when idiot me poured almost half a (BIG!) bottle of paint on the canvas (making SD a lil' while back). I was thinking "Oh it'll dry...it'll just take some time." Wrong! It probably would've never dried if I left it the way it was. Oh well, live and learn...that's all you can do sometimes. ;)

And below is my freshly made Skeleton Mask. Gloss sealer also added to him...or her. I am quite addicted to gloss at this point. I use it on almost every thing I paint. The only thing I haven't used it on recently was the actual toy ponies in my other 'art project' called Pony War. I put it up on my FaceBook page...not here, sorry! ...just cuz it's easier sometimes. OK, enjoy my glittery shiny mask. He is officially done...or she, whoops!

All pictures taken without a flash...so it's pretty accurate with its colors and all.

I don't think I could wear it. It even scares me when I put it on! I hope you enjoy your week friends. Oh and have you been to the stores to see all the Halloween merch out now? I can stay at places like Target forever just browsing around...each year they get better while places like Walmart get worse. But that's ok, TARGET is my 2nd home...lol. Take care~

My Skeleton Mask

Made this Skeleton mask last night. I mean painted it...didn't make the actual mask. I'm not sure if I'm finished with it or not yet. I'm thinking maybe... The pic above is with no flash. And the picture below is with the flash. Think I want to buy one or two more masks...they're from Michaels. There's not string on the back to wear it though. Doesn't actually fit well on my face...so, not sure if it's supposed to be a wearable mask or just for decoration around the house. Hm....

Kinda creepy...ya think? And the bottom one is creepier cuz you can see my eyes....ooooo. I'm sure I'll be making more Halloween art over the next month or so. (Did I mention Halloween is my favorite holiday? So excited going to all the stores this time of year!)
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday, friends.~

Alice by Burton: Says Wikipedia

hey curious ones. i looked up Alice In Wonderland by Tim Burton at work yesterday (as well as other things) because as you know many things are blocked there now. so i went to the all holy (j/k) Wikipedia to see what they had to say about the Alice film by Tim Burton, and i found out some new things...

-it will definitely be based off both books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass

-it will be combining live action, motion capture technology, and stop motion techniques

-release date says March 19, 2010...not March 5th, damn it!

-music will be done by the one & only Danny Elfman, yay!!!

-here's some interesting things about the cast & characters:

-Helena Bonham Carter's head will be increased in size 3 times as The Red Queen, but Anne Hathaway's The White Queen character won't have any digital manipulation. Hathaway sums up her character as "cute but psycho, it evens out."

-Alan Rickman (as the Caterpillar) will have his face composited onto a computer-generated character (and that was pretty obvious!)

-Matt Lucas will play both Tweedledee & Tweedledum

-Alice's sister will be in it, but i'm not sure for how long...as well as an "unfriendly" girl Alice knows before she falls down the rabbit hole

-Michael Sheen is in the film but he denied reports that he plays the Cheshire Cat. Another source is crediting him as the White Rabbit...and yeah, what about the White Rabbit? didn't think about him in my last update.

-Christopher Lee, Stephen Fry, Tim Pigott-Smith, Geraldine James, and Frances de la Tour have unnamed roles.

Alice In Wonderland by Tim Burton UPDATE

(a lovely drawing from the book.)

(she'll be playing Alice in Tim Burton's film. i have to say she really does look the part.)

(what's this kitty cat gonna look & sound like?)

o.k. over a month ago, i wrote a blog post about my excitement for Tim Burton's version of Alice In Wonderland. and at that time i didn't know anything about it besides that Johnny Depp was playing the Mad Hatter. well, i got a BIG update now. here we go...

1) it's going to be released by Disney. hm, this means it will prob still be dark, twisted, & creepy because of Mr. Burton...but maybe not too TOO much now so the kiddies won't run away. so i can take my nieces & nephews to see this...if my sisters allow. yay, a great excuse for me to see this more than once at the show. :)

2) it's not going to come out til 2010. darn, that's a long wait but i'm sure it'll be worth it. AND, thank you Tim, it comes out a few days after my birthday, woo hoo!

3) think it's gonna be based off of both books from the list of characters. both books are: Alice In Wonderland of course, & also Through the Looking-Glass and what Alice found there. hm, maybe w/that, i'll get a bunch of new followers...ha ha. ;}

4) here's the list of actors & their characters (sweet casting as expected!):

-Alice: Mia Wasikowska. i have no idea who this is. imdb says she's from australia & studied ballet. she looks very pretty though with her lovely blonde hair and innocent look. good decision Tim for opting for a newbie!

-Mad Hatter: Johnny Depp. but of course. if you didn't know this, you've been living in a cave!

-The White Queen: Anne Hathaway. i'm not really a big fan of hers, but if Tim says she's cool than she will prob rock this role.

-The Red Queen (aka: Queen of Hearts): Helena Bonham Carter. knew it! & so did mike. but of course Mr. Burton's wife was gonna take this role on. i know she won't disappoint...and heads will roll. ;)

-Cheshire Cat: Michael Sheen. again, i don't know who this is. but i think he'll only be providing the voice. i'm very curious, above all other characters, to see what this demented kitty cat will look like according to Burton.

-Caterpillar: Alan Rickman. he will rock this role i'm sure. i can completely picture him as that crazy, hooka-smoking caterpillar.

-?: Christopher Lee. he's not listed to have a character right now but i'm going to guess that he might be the narrator. and that would rule.

and last but never least & the coolest casting in a long time for a Tim Burton film...

-The Knave of Hearts: Crispin Glover!!!. ooo, i love Crispin. can you believe when i 1st looked at the cast of characters, i overlooked him??! and then when i went back, i was like "what? that rules!" so very exciting!!!

EVERYTHING about this film is exciting of course. God, & this film is gonna be a dream come true to me. i mean how can Tim Burton do any wrong with such a great cast & one of the most interesting stories of ALL time. i know this is prob gonna be my fave Burton film ever. (eve is tooooo excited!!!) Keep me updated curious ones & i'll do my best to stay up to date too.~

Here's all the info on IMDB.com

O.K. i gotta get ready for work now, ugh. but i hope you all have a lovely day. take care.~

Living Dead Dolls: Urban Legends

above: new LDD series 17-Urban Legends

above: LDD two-pack of nurse & doctor

i'm a BIG collector as some of you know. and i'm also a collector of Living Dead Dolls. first type of thing i was HARDCORE into getting almost everything they put out. they are now on Series 17 & again, i have almost every series-which would be 5 dolls per series (i usually buy 'em by the box-set of 5 dolls...& it's cheaper in the long run). 2 series come out a year & then there's also exclusives (like the nurse & doctor pack above) which have one or 2 dolls in 'em, that come out over the year. so honestly i don't know how many i own because most are in storage. i have recent series/exclusives on display though.

but i'm mainly posting this because Series 17 doesn't impress me much. i'm wondering if it's a concept idea for each one because they don't look very polished at all. if not concepts, i think they all look pretty crappy and would probably not get any of 'em if this is what they're gonna look like. for example: if you see the 2-pack above, you can see how much nicer it looks. so again, i have to say Series 17: Urban Legends looks like concept dolls. hm, i'm curious...as always...~

Check out LDD Series 17 description HERE.

Dead Man's Bones Music Video (aka: Ryan's Band)

i didn't know how serious Ryan Gosling was about music (i knew he played guitar). but i just found out that he has a MySpace page...and that they just made this video. it is really cool & CREEPY. he's got a bit of a darker side. i love that! he is SO my man. ha ha. oh, & the kids in it RULE. they are in halloween outfits-sweetness! and i like how they sing along too. adds a lot to the music! ooo, if his band comes to detroit, i am SO THERE! =] hope you enjoy the video. (you can't see him very well til the end & it's only for a sec...cuz for some reason it's really dark by him, unfortunately.)~

Alice In Wonderland by Tim Burton

since my page is very alice in wonderland themed, i would like to talk about the film that is rumored to be in the making soon. and that is tim burton's alice in wonderland. this is like a dream come true to me in several ways. 1) tim burton is my all-time fave director 2) alice in wonderland is one of my fave things EVER 3) to take a dark spin on this is gonna be wonderful because people don't really know that the book(s) that disney's alice is based off of is quite dark & twisted. and i love twisted things...and hm, how should i word this-i LOVE "gothic" things. & tim burton knows dark, twisted, & goth things better than any other film director out now!!!

so it is confirmed NOW that the great johnny depp will be playing the mad hatter (so awesome!). happy happy joy joy!!! (BIG thanks to LUNA for the concept pic of mr. depp) i'm going to guess on the other BIG characters: queen of hearts-prob going to be played by tim's wife, helena bonham carter. and how about alice, sweet alice? i'd say dakota fanning or anna sophia robb. helena would make an awesome Queen...and as for alice i chose these young girls, not only cuz Alice is blonde, but because i could actually picture either of them playing her. but anything could happen with tim burton...the girl could have pitch black hair or she could be an adult for all i know. i guess we'll have to wait and see.

OH & prob my fave character of ALICE, the cheshire cat. i love Disney's Cheshire Cat...and seeing him dark & twisted for the computer game several years ago kinda was creepy & very scary. i don't think i liked him THAT dark. i want him to be twisted (like he definitely is) but not TOO dark & not very scary (i know tim will realize children might want to see this, making me wonder what kind of rating this will get). Cheshire Cat-he was funny in Disney and i liked that. not to mention i loved all of his lines, especially "we're all mad here." ha ha. he rules & this film will be a great twist to both a classic book & film i'm sure. can't wait!!!:}
