Curious...
...does anyone know much about the KISS AND MAKE UP thingie on ETSY? I left neutral feedback for an item because I was not 100% satisified. She left me positive feedback for sending my payment fast BUT I did not arrive my package for a very long time...and opted for neutral rather than negative because of her positive feedback to me.
I don't want to "make up" because I feel like I wrote the truth...the package took a while to arrive...and to get more technical (didn't write this on her feedback part)...she moved & didn't email any of her 'customers' of this...which could've delayed her items...which it did. I waited for 3 weeks to get my item after the 'artist' said 7-14 days. She emailed me ONLY after I emailed her saying "It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't received my package." She said other 'customers' were having the same problem and that she just moved. Overall she has great feedback but this was not cool...especially if I planned to give it as a gift (which I didn't but that's not the point).
What would you do...???...and please be honest. Cuz IDK how long this 'kiss and make up' thing will stay up...Guess they REALLY REALLY REALLY want you to leave positive feedback...hm, it's weird. Ya think??? Hmm...finding out interesting things every day...chat with you all later. Time to go home and watch WATCHMEN...Mike is getting anxious!!! ;)

Very sorry friends/followers.... (Etsy related)
...about SOMETHING. It's ETSY related. I don't know if you've been checking consistently or not but I've been jumping back & forth on my prices for pretty much all my pieces in my ETSY shop. This is because I really don't know how to price my stuff. Never sold my stuff like this before.
I had it the same for the first several days....then I was looking around ETSY (which I know is no way to base your stuff but still....was curious)....and then I'm like "Hm, well, haven't sold anything yet....maybe I'll ask a lil' more." So I'm sorry that it's been inconsistent....but I'm trying to get it kinda in order...while I'm at work today I'm gonna try to get it "right." If that's possible. I hate that someone would like something of mine....and then the next day it's 5-10 dollars higher. I just don't think my stuff NEEDS to be terribly expensive....for these certain pieces atleast. Ya know?!!?
But you don't want to sell yourself short for the money you put in to a piece...and especially the TIME & EFFORT. Because truly, most (if not all) of my pieces really do take a good amount of time/effort...and honestly not a heck of a lot of money...unless a frame/pendant/etc... is involved really. And I've been buying a few really sweet frames lately so I need to take the cost of those into consideration.
OK, I'm running late for work...again! How does this happen?!? I blame the very exhausting party yesterday! Well, I can do that, right!??! No, honestly I was watching TV & I fell asleep for longer than expected. Need to set my cellphone to wake me when I do that! Maybe then I wouldn't (always) be running late for...everything. ;)
Have a good day everyone & be chatting with some of you soon. (Oh and the PIRATE party is below this one btw.) Take care.~

What I've made for my ETSY shop lately

Hi friends. Here's my BRAND new ART pieces.
Some I've been working on over time...some just over the past several days.
I still have yet to put 'em on my ETSY SHOP...so YOU get the first peek, woooo hoo!!!
And I don't know why this is underlined....hmmmm.....
Oh & please remember...
you can click on any image to see it FULL SIZED...
Alright, here we go...
I might just call 'em the obvious. Ex. what the words are on the front of these
-Celebrate & Wish Box).
So to the left is a medium sized round wooden box...and to the right is a medium sized cigar box. Yes it is actually called that on the receipt.
I got a few of 'em from Michaels cuz I thought they may not carry 'em (never seen 'em before)...and now they're ALL GONE. Pretty crappy cuz they were a GREAT price. :(
Hope they come back because I really like working with 'em...
and like I said the price wasn't bad at all!
Oh & these are 2 of the 3 USA/Red-White-Blue themed pieces...
Yeah, ummmm, I heart glitter...
A LOT!!!
{It's all over my art floor...it's all over me when I'm done making stuff...
But it comes off easily so it's all good!}
There is no such thing in Eve's Wonderland as TOO much glitter!
;}
(not purposely done in the USA/Colors theme)
...but have a lot of those colors anyhow...
I really layered it up...and down...and up...and down....
I like the layering of glitter...as you will see below...
Many embellishments...and glitter...
and I put that pic of Barbie in there from my Barbie collector magazine.
Yes, I like SOME Barbies.
I used to collect more when I worked at Toys R Us as you can imagine.
(Much cheaper that way.) And could get things before the 'public' sometimes.
But anyways...doesn't she fit wonderfully?
^_^

Hello & welcome to my MAD TEA PARTY!!!
Hello there!And welcome to my MAD TEA PARTY.
I'll be your host for the next few moments.
My name is EVE...very nice to meet you...
but first you must...
...Sooo....Did you drink it?
OK, good.
Now, we can start the picture part
aka: picture party...
and then I'll do some Tim Burton Alice ramblings & more...
at the bottom.
First up.....
But I'd like ya to know that....
these great stampers were purchased off a really cool website...
that caters to ALL of your ALICE needs.
It's called GOREY DETAILS.
I put their website link all the wayyyy at the bottom.
So you just MUST read on now...
I'm bad, I know! ;}
I just opened my own ETSY art shop last week called...
LOOKING GLASS GALLERY.
And I wanted these stampers,
so when people purchase something from my site,
I can give 'em some nice stampings!
I really LOVE 'em!
It is called THE BIRTHDAY GIRL...
AND...
is for sale on my ETSY page.
It's called...
Curious Poe & Curiouser Alice.
One of the original illustrations for Lewis Carroll's book.I love these illustrations very much.
I use 'em often in my ART...
but I do alter 'em...
so 'technically' I'm not stealing.
I think these illustrations are wonderful!!!
A nice painting I found on ETSY (sorry can't recall her name at the moment).All the MAIN characters are here...
Alice...Mad Hatter...White Rabbit...and Queen of Hearts.
I am most like ALICE and the White Rabbit.
WHO R U most like?...
even if it's not one of the characters above.
Just being curious as usual....;}
How about another TEA PARTY pic!??
...And I HEART her dress lots!!!I mean skirt...well, forget it,
I love everything she's wearing...
right down to her awesome lil' boots!
I like this cute lil' dollie of ALICE.Would love to get her but very pricey!
Alice stuff can sometimes be very pricey-OUCH!
Oh and I'm definitely a bit like the Cheshire Cat.but aren't we all?
I mean "I'm mad, you're mad, we're all mad here!"
^_^
Artist Jasmine Beckett-Griffith made this painting of Alice & Lewis Carroll.I HEART it very much and own a print of it.
Her ALICE prints (well, all her prints) are very reasonably priced.
Check out her site HERE.
This was the first Jasmine print I purchased.It's called CLOCKWORK ALICE...
And I love it!!!
I can't help but to want all of her ALICE prints now.
Soooooo, that's the end of the picture part or picture party...
next for some words from me to YOU...
Sooo...I don't know about YOU, but I am super super EXCITED about the new Alice film. As I said, I HEART almost everything Alice-related and Tim Burton happens to be my favorite director of all-time...so this film will be like a DREAM COME TRUE to me. (Have you seen any pics yet? I posted some in a fairly recent post...and they look AWESOME! I am beyond excited! Everyone looks so great & Wonderland looks beautiful!)
So I would like to chat about 2 things that you may be interested in. One you may already know about but I'll throw it out there anyways. And that is, if you're ever looking for really nice (as well as unique) Alice In Wonderland merch you should definitely check out Gorey Details. They have a HUGE selection and most of it (the Alice stuff mainly) I have NEVER seen in any store. Their ALICE section can be found HERE. I've given them business a couple times now. I have to admit they are a bit slow with shipping because they carry SO much. But good things come to those who wait, right!??!
The second {and last} thing I would like to share is (ahem, shameless self promotion but hey you guys are ALICE fans right!??)...I JUST opened my very own ETSY shop called Looking Glass Gallery. I don't have many items up right now but hm, 3 out of the 6 art pieces are ALICE-related. Alice is one of my 'specialities' but I do other types of art as well. So if you're ever curious, please take a look at my gallery...which can be found HERE.
Thank you very much for stopping by my MAD TEA PARTY. I hope you enjoyed your time here. If you leave me a comment, I will do my very best-est to 'hop' over to your party too! Have lots of fun celebrating this wonderfully MAD day!
To participate in this MAD TEA PARTY or to simply check it out, please visit HERE to see what's happening! Thank you so much A Fanciful Twist for creating such a great idea! Hope you'll be doing it again next year!~

Made my business cards for my Etsy shop...
...and they look wonderful! My dad & I did a good job. Wow, and no arguing, a miracle! ;} I'd post one here but I'm about to leave my parents' house...yes we are STILL without power at my home. But it has cooled down a lot so I think we'll be ok without air conditioning or fans (Knocks on Wood!).
My mom told me there are A LOT of lines down...I haven't really been driving around, but I know it's probably true. I'll say this much-when I turned down my street (driving home from work) it looked like a war zone! So many branches all over the place & debris....it was everywhere! Mike even said his package from Amazon was thrown about in the front yard.
Well, I better head home...it's getting late. But I'm hoping my power will be up by tomorrow (wish for me friends!)...cuz then I can show you my new pieces & new business cards. ^_^ And oh boy, you know I have more random cell pics...like too many. Hope everyone is doing good & I hope I can post & also read your blogs soon.
Take care~

Alice & Poe Collage...Finished
Over the weekend, I worked on several things but the one thing I finished up was the Alice & Poe collage. I had to cut it to fit into the frame I wanted it to go into...and it wasn't too bad...nothing much was lost of the original collage besides a lil' off the sides. So now it is in a glass frame with embellishments on the glass as well. I decided to call it Curious Poe & Curiouser Alice. You can click on any of the images below to see them much bigger.
So this is the second thing that I think is ready to put up on my (coming soon) Etsy shop. Don't think I'll touch it anymore...the embellishments on the glass were enough. Have a good Monday.~

FYI: A great sale for us artists & crafters

Hi everyone. About an hour ago, I went to get our dinner and I had 15 minutes to spare...and the closest thing around to the restaurant was a JOANN's (fabric and craft) store. So of course I had to take a stop in...since I've been gathering ideas and creating things for my soon-to-be Etsy Shop. But little did I know that quite a BIG & great sale is currently going on (from the 14th through the 20th). It's called the FIREFLY FRENZY SALE...and SO much is on sale. Please click HERE to see some of the stuff on sale on their website and in the store too.
My local JoAnn's is MASSIVE...but I think most are, right? So I kinda just ran around like a chicken with its head cut off after I kept seeing ALL these signs for certain things I wanted on sale. So the first thing I saw that I was like "MUST GET" was the scrapbook single sheets...they were 6 for .96 cents! Quite a wonderful deal considering they normally are .59 cents each (there's ones for .99 and higher but this sale applies only to the .59 cents ones, which is fine because there are still nice ones there).
Another thing I looked at (for my upcoming projects) were pendants. They were 25-30% off...certain ones though. Manor House pendants were included in this sale, as well as Noir ones. I got several Manor House ones because again, What a DEAL! I wanted to look around more but I had to get our food before it got cold so I went up to the front....and waited...and waited...and waited....in line. Why does my JoAnn's always have just one cashier...and on a Sunday!?? WTH!?? I guess it helps that when the refunds/customer service girl isn't busy, she can help ring up peeps too. But God, I go in there knowing I will have to wait atleast 10 minutes in line-and that sucks!
So for all of you artists & crafters know that there IS an awesome sale going on at JOANN's...and check out their website to see more...or just stop on in one day this week. I haven't seen a sale like this at a craft store in forever so I will definitely be making a couple more stops there. (Oh, and I got some scrapbook sheets for only .10 cents each-on the clearance table. I thought someone just left 'em there but nope, just ones peeps didn't like-one had cute lil' drawn terrier doggies and the other was a very pretty flower image. I'll have to check out that table again when I stop back in.) If any of you ladies go, let me know what you got on sale, if you'd like....you can post it on this blog entry. ^_^
Take care & enjoy the rest of your Sunday!~

OK, now it's done! The Birthday Girl, that is...
The Birthday Girl (my art piece) is finally finished, hooray!!!
But first some background on my art process lately and my process in the past as well...
I've noticed something with how I make art for the past several weeks. Well, that is art for my (soon-to-be) Etsy shop (and Sorry, Diane I don't know when I'll open shop-I don't have a set date at the moment-But have no fear, I will be shouting from the mountain tops when I do OPEN it!). Ok, I feel that if people are going to purchase something from me I want it to be as good as I can possibly make it. I know that sounds like a simple statement but it's not. Atleast for me it's complicated. (But I think it makes YOU...well for ME, think more.)
What I mean is some of the things I've posted about my updates were things (for example the hand mirror & the other hand mirror with no mirror-Pill Face it was called)...that literally sat around in my ArtSpace for a while (and I considered them 'finished'). Pill Face I made wayyyy back...then I changed it...simply because I thought it needed that extra something. That extra something was just metallic paint. Same kinda thing with the other hand mirror-I completed it, thought it looked good, and then ___ time goes by and I say "Hm, I'm gonna make it better!" And I think it did come out better in the end.
As I've heard from many people (and yes Diane, thanks for reminding me too!), LESS is sometimes more when it comes to art. But in some cases, I just feel like a piece is missing....something. The piece below called "The Birthday Girl" was never a themed piece. Then the more I worked on it, the more it became something of its own. And I do really enjoy 'themed' art...but usually don't do it because it takes a lot of thought. When I started to paint (semi-seriously) back in 1999, I was making paintings/mixed media like it was going out of style...and this continued on & off for years. Usually I'd take a BIG break, then start whippin' 'em out again.
But then I look back at those pieces (which I took pictures of some), and say "Hm, I could've done so much more with it!" But maybe it was just my thing then. Because it never took me long to complete a piece...a day or two at the most. And they all kinda looked the same. I had ONE BIG theme back then-faces...but very very abstract faces. My first & only art show was even title "Faces in Disguise"-yay, I came up with the name too (it was a group show with a few friends)! {I'm actually going to be getting ALL the art I have at my parents house very soon-which is A LOT...so it'll be interesting to see things I've completely forgotten about. And to see how my 'style' has changed/evolved. I will more than likely post pics of some of those pieces...but of course!}
OK, so with the pieces I'm working on for ETSY, I'm trying my hardest to make them the best that they can be. And I'm trying to make them (kinda thinking, especially with Birthday Girl) that someone will see it and want to get it as a gift for a family member, friend, etc.... So I have to say THIS (below) is the first piece that I feel is READY for ETSY. And I think it is more like a piece you'd see and say "Oh, maybe ___ would like that for her birthday." (Or whatever else...but I'm thinking birthday...but an unbirthday will work too!)
Sooo, the piece below is Birthday Girl before I added that one little extra something-to finish it. I thought it looked good...but a sticker in the top left corner was not sticking well, and hm, by 5pm, the darn thing fell off. So I was thinking it needs "Something." So here it is pre-5 ish...And this picture (sorry, it's wayyyy below) is post-5 pm. I just thought it needed that extra SOMETHING, ya know!?? Do you know what it is? But of course YOU do! And now I feel completely satisfied with it. And I don't plan on touching it again. I was telling Mike earlier when he was at work today "Hm, I think I need to add more to it." And he's funny because he just said "Be careful." Which is true. I mean if it looks pretty good, why mess with it!?? But hey, I'm a pro (well, not really but I can pretend, right!??)...and I would've figured out something else, even if it took some time. And time is OK sometimes. :}
So I hope you can understand what I'm trying to get at with this POST (especially you artistic ones!). And that is I just think art should take some time, thought, and a lil' blood, sweat, or tears involved in it too. AND don't forget about PAIN (did I mention I have some "thing" in my foot? I think it's a teeny tiny piece of a mirror...cuz I didn't clean up all the mirror-dust when I broke a couple mirrors-a while back-in the basement aka: my art area. It feels a bit better now but it REALLY hurt a few days back.). But no pain, no gain, right!?! My ArtSpace/Area is a deadly place to go...you MUST always wear shoes for one! ^_^
And I guess I'm feeling a lil' bit of pressure knowing someone might buy my art so that is kinda good...kinda is bad, ya know? And then the attachment to the piece also...but that's a whole other story (and YOU artists know exactly what I mean with getting attached to something), that I won't get into. Alright...Birthday Girl w/that special something is pictured below...And my finishing touch (which I hope I can put on all of my pieces but I'll see how it goes), is the "Handmade By" stamper...which I would've got the "Hand-altered By" if they had it. ;} And the key stamp cuz I just love keys....especially old keys like that one to the right. And that sticker that fell off the frame actually came into use on the back of the piece, The Best Birthday Ever sticker. I may have to tape it if it doesn't stick, which is fine. I definitely didn't want to tape it to the front of the frame-mainly cuz none of the other stickers needed tape to stay. And that wouldn't have looked right. I think the flower was much more fitting. And yes DIANE, I will name drop you one last time, you are SO right-there are NO accidents in art. OK, do I get something for name dropping YOU the most in one post!???! ^_^
Darn. And can you believe I did not plan to do this gigantic of a post! Well I never actually plan to write long or short, I just write. 9 times out of 10 I don't have things pre-written...which I'm assuming most blog authors don't do either...guess it depends. I REALLY came on to write on my personal (secret) blog...and here I go on about this piece & ART in general. Don't worry though I won't be doing this for EVERY piece I make! Yikes, that would be a bit mad! So would any of you artists like to explain your process and views about selling art (if you have or haven't yet)?
At my art show (back in the day aka: a billion years ago), I did sell a mixed media painting & I have to say that it was ONE of the greatest feelings I've ever had. It was pretty cool. So again, whatever you'd like to say about your art & experiences, please dish! You know me, I'm always curious. ;}
OK, it's almost midnight...OK, now it's past 12 AM since Mike interrupted me. So I should head off. Gotta work tomorrow, blahhh. But it MUST be done...that is until I am a rich & famous artist living in the country side of France, and don't need to have my job anymore. Oooo la la, what an amazing life that would be!
Alright, be chatting with you all soon.~

Hi friends. What you will see below is work I made/changed/or I am in the process of making still (ALL for my Etsy shop, which will be coming soon). I did most of these this weekend. Oh & there's a sneak peek (not revealing TOO much) at the bottom, showing what the WINNER of the Giveaway (which the date has changed, please note) will receive as a bonus...it's a piece of handmade art from me-sorry, it's not going to be a box. :( But I think whomever wins, will like this too. Take care & enjoy your Monday friends.~
