Jaime's Art Piece, Damned Art Show, and more

Hi friends. Sorry I've been MIA lately and that I haven't been visiting your Blogs. I truly have been busy. DAMNED is coming up this Thursday (three nights of it too, gonna try going to all 3) and I'm also going to be in an Xmas (holiday) show in early December. So I've been working on those pieces as well. I will do sneak peeks of 'em soon. I'm working on three pieces for the show. I chose to work on a holiday Sally (from Nightmare Before Xmas), Scary Teddy from Nightmare, and Dolly from Rudolph.

Also I wanted to do this post to show you what the art giveaway winner, Jaime, won. Thanks to her for taking a picture of it because I forgot to before I put it in the box. :) She chose the colors hot pink, neon blue, and black. So I added a little white paint and some pink glitter (and a hidden feather too) in this piece. The piece is fairly small (5 x 7 stretched canvas). I have gotten used to doing smaller pieces lately. Which I enjoy because I used to always work pretty big. (Plus it was much easier to ship!)

OK I hope you all are doing well. Talk to you sometime after the DAMNED art show. Wish me luck. Would really like to sell my piece (will post it after the show)...but the event itself is what I'm most looking forward to.

All this could be YOURS if...

Hello there. So the pictures you see now are of the box & a sneak peek to some of the contents of my giveaway. Curious? Well, I'll just say there's A LOT...and there's things in things so yeah, a heck-of-a LOT. SO guess what? I changed my mind about the giveaway. This is what I'm pretty sure I want to do at this point.

  • OK, the person/follower who gives me the BEST 2-3 QUESTIONS to answer {a mini Eve Blogoversary interview} will WIN the prize pack. And there will be only ONE winner. But like I said in the post below (which you can skip over many parts of, as they don't apply now) PLEASE send your questions to my ghostgirl6@gmail.com address. This begins NOW. When I announce the winner is unknown at the moment. Definitely after after the art show, Halloween, etc... Basically it'll be sometime in November.

  • But like I said, if you have a couple questions, send 'em on over now. But if you do send 'em, PLEASE send them ALL at one time. So again, this is a giveaway to really really think about. I'm gonna make you work hard for my big BLOGOVERSARY giveaway. ;) Take care & start thinking of your questions because November will be here before you know it. Crazy that this month is almost over!

Are you curious???
Let's just say it's a very good feeling to give this stuff away.
Too much clutter...and lots (if not all) were on sale/clearance.
Sooo...gonna play my giveaway?
Hope you do!~

Some of Roxy's Winnings

Hi there. Here are some of Roxy's winnings from my most recent giveaway. She sent me more pics but for some odd reason my computer isn't letting me open 'em up. Hm. Oh well, I'll try to do that some other time. AND I have no idea why the top picture is sideways. The pic she sent me was not sideways. Ugh, I tell ya this laptop is messed up sometimes. Yes, I blame it on that! ;)
So YAY, I finally got to use my Alice In Wonderland stamps. You like? Just 2 of the 4 stamps so far...which are: Wonderland Post (w/Alice image) and also A Very Merry Unbirthday To You.

The yellow clutch Hello Kitty purse and a recycled cheddar pretzels bag (I think) pouch. They had 'em at Target for pencil/pen holders (I would assume) during the school season. I got a cool black Doritios bag one also a while back.

Cute MOM magnet. What is Mom busy doing???

Chococat check book holder, red wallet, Fosters (Edwardo sp?) wallet/holder, and Monchichi Chan (think that's how you spell his name) coin purse. Yes, Monchichi is a relative of Hello Kitty.

Close up of the purple wallet/holder.

No EVE prizepack is complete without looking-glasses. The pouch holds the small compact mirror and the lipstick case also has a mirror so you can put your lipstick on of course!

Lots of Chococat nail decals (yes, I have an endless supply...seriously!) and puffy stickers!

Sack-o-stickers, Hello Kitty earrings, and some Sanrio small charms.
Thanks to Roxy for sending me pics, much appreciated. And there's more too. Again, once I get those pics to upload properly, I'll probably post 'em. Because I did send her something REALLY cool (imo)...a DUNNY. :)
Take care friends~

And the winners are...

OK, it's time to announce both winners of my latest giveaway.
Again, I appreciated all your suggestions and I hope to atleast try all of them at some point in time. It was a difficult decision as I've said before, but after much thought I have decided that the runner-up is....
The Queen of Clearance!
I really liked her idea about painting one side of a doll as an angel and then the other side as a devil. Very cool idea.
I think it will be a bit difficult but I may very well attempt it one day. And when I do, I'll make sure to post pics.
Thank you Queen for both of your ideas and I hope you will enjoy what will be coming to your mailbox soon.
Now everyone please congrat her!
Now for the winner of this giveaway,
it's...
ROXY!
Yayyyy for her! Please give a round of applause to Ms. Roxy now!
Actually, Roxy emailed me before posting her suggestion on here. She told me why she chose the shrine (in a box) idea there first so I would understand what she meant by this kind of shrine in her comment.
Now have any of you seen the film White Oleander? If you haven't, you should. It's a very powerful film with such great performances by every actor...right down to the tiny parts.
White Oleander is a very artist-driven film. And those types of films really appeal to me.
So the main character, Astrid, makes shrines in suitcases. Why exactly, I won't reveal...if you haven't seen it yet. But it is very clever. And I knew exactly what Roxy meant by saying I should do a shrine in a box...and that maybe it should be about Alice (in Wonderland).
I even went back and watched the film because I honestly forgot how much I loved it. Again, it's a very powerful film (and book, which I also read)...and quite sad but it's still really really good. And I recommend it to anyone artistic or anyone simply wanting to watch a group of really good actors with a very intense story.
So to that I say Thank You Roxy,
Thank You Queen,
and Thank You EVERYONE who participated in this giveaway.
It was really great to hear your wonderful ideas and now I applaud you ALL...because of course you are all winners in my book!
^_^
Note to Roxy & Queen:
Please email me your home addresses to my ghostgirl6 account.
(Yes, I should have them...somewhere...but I don't. I'm bad, sorry.)
I will let you know as soon as I ship your packages.
And I'll try not to make you wait too long. ;)
And if you'd like to take pics of your winnings
(since I didn't post everything on my blog),
please feel free to send me a pic or two once your package arrives.
Of course you don't have to...others just may be curious.
Right, curious ones!??!
Take care & thanks again my dearest friends & followers.
You are the best!~

A quick note to those participating in my giveaway

  • Hi friends and followers. First I would like to say I really appreciate everyone participating in my current giveaway. :) Everyone is so creative and it's going to be really really REALLY tough to pick one winner. So I'm going to do something different for this giveaway. Don't worry it's nothing bad! I have decided that there will be a runner-up as well. And although this person will not win the BIG giveaway, this person will receive something cool too. Well, hopefully this person will think it's cool. It's going to be a piece of my handmade art (and don't forget that it's also one-of-a-kind, woohoo!). I will also throw in a few little prizes as well. Sound good!?! ^_^ I mean how many blogs give a runner-up prize? It's because I LOVE you guys...I really really LOVE you! ;)
  • And please remember if you post about my giveaway on your BLOG, you get another chance to WIN! (Please read my giveaway post for more directions on how that works.) Last day to participate is October 4th, this upcoming Sunday. I posted a small part of what piece of art the runner-up will be winning above. And it used to be on my ETSY page, just a lil' FYI. I'm 'getting rid' of a lot of ETSY stuff...simply because either I won't have an ETSY anymore or I will be completely changing what I will be trying to sell. I'll see how it goes.
  • OK, that is all for now. I'm feeling a bit better today. The weather here is still crappy though but I feel much better than I did on the weekend. Thanks for the get-well-soons, think it worked a bit. Take care~

What Roxy won (Coraline Giveaway)

Here's what Roxy won when I did my Coraline Guessing Game Giveaway. She was kind enough to take pics of her winnings for me-thanks Roxy. I put her lil' gifts in the pumpkin Ziploc bag above...and inside that bag were...

...Coraline magnets, buttons, and a keychain...

...Roxy told me her daughter was excited and put the magnets up asap. Aww, glad they both liked 'em!...

...and last but never least, a compact mirror/looking-glass. But of course! (And from Claire's) There's my business card...I don't think I posted what it looks like...(hm, wondering)...anyways there it is. My ETSY is still on vacation mode...and for two reasons now. 1-(which you are all familiar with)...been using my roomie's laptop until we get our own (but luckily it is in our computer room...and I don't have to go in his room to use it).
And 2-I plan to re-do my Etsy Shop.
I'm not going to be selling anything in glass frames anymore. Well, I haven't sold anything yet, but I don't want to sell things in frames because I know it'll be a pain to ship. So for my collages, I will probably just sell the collage itself (bringing down the price, as well as the aggravation for me).
Sooo, new stuff will be in-the-making...and after I make some, I will re-open my shop.
AND if anyone is interested in any of my past Etsy stuff (like The Birthday Girl or Poe/Alice collages in frames)...I am willing to sell 'em for a much cheaper price...roughly $18 each, including shipping. I just want to start FRESH at this point...so my computer being down actually helped me decide this.
Oh and another reason my Etsy is down-my art room is still in a frenzied mess ever since our roomie moved in almost 2 weeks ago...so if you are interested in my collages, I must warn you it may take me a couple days to find 'em...terrible I know. But I NEED an assitant to clean up my messes, ;)
OK, hope you all enjoy your day and be chatting with you soon.~
(FYI: Normally, I use paragraphs in my posts but this crazy laptop refuses to cooperate sometimes...trust me, I want PARAGRAPHS-so know it truly isn't my fault!)
^_^
