First post for February: some art & photography

Hello Blogger friends.
Here's some new (and old) pictures for your viewing pleasure. I've been doing some photography a bit more often. Some are just random shots I post on my Facebook art page. And some are when I'm working on a "project"...a "look" for a performance art character.
I was going to wear the above "look" for a show but got cold feet at the last minute. But it will be used for something...sometime. Just wasn't feelin' it for this particular show.

Also, you will see some of my art that I've completed recently. Art Shows you may wonder? Well, more than likely I won't be part of a show until the summer. And I'm fine with that. Gives me time to rework a lot of paintings and to think about the new directions I want to go into. Last year was CRAZY BUSY. I had a show almost every month. I'm glad things are at a much slower pace now. Plus this weather has been insane! Could barely get down my street today, ugh. Spring needs to get here asap!

Hope you are all doing good.

One of those lazy days

Ever have one of those really really really lazy days? Where you just want to stay home and relax and lounge around? That's what I want to do today but (ugh) I gotta be at work at 4 pm. I've just been listening to Dead Man's Bones (post below) pretty non-stop since I heard the album was streaming on MySpace yesterday. I think it's probably my favorite album of 2009 at this point. I've never heard anything quite like it. And it's just haunting, rockin', and awesome. Ryan's voice is great...as is the children's choir. Good stuff.

OK, below is some pics of a handheld battery-operated fan. Took 'em all in the dark (night time mode on my camera). Liked how they came out. Ok, going back to my laziness. Enjoy the pics and take care. (Oh and don't forget the giveaway...I'm going to probably say it 10 more times before it's over, so prepare yourself for much repeated-ness. Sorry but I got to spread the word!)

More night time pics

Our light outside..."there is a light and it never goes out"-I know Roxy knows that line! ;)

Hi there. I did go to the Ren Fest and it was a lot of fun...but I think I got sick from going because it was a bit cold and it rained a bit also. Mike didn't go (I went w/my friend) but he's feeling a bit sick too...so maybe it wasn't that afterall. Still I'm not feeling too great and hopefully it'll go away soon. Just glad I have Mondays off because who knows if I'll be feeling better by then. :)

So the Ren Fest was fun: had beef stew in a breadbowl, watched a pirate show and jousting, bought another piece of art from a guy who's pottery I really love-pics to come of that, and just had a good time in general. I hadn't been to the Ren Fest in years (maybe 5 years) so it was nice to go and see everyone dressed up and all that stuff.

Ok, so for some reason I like taking pictures in the dark lately...hm, why is that I wonder!??! I just like messing with light I think. So there's some 'night time mode' pics below. And I also took a bunch of pics of a small hand fan (battery operated) that lights up when it's on...but those will come later. They turned out pretty cool I think.

Thanks again to those participating in my giveaway. This is probably my favorite so far because I LOVE to hear ideas you have for me! It's going to be a tough decision for sure!!! Alright enjoy your Sunday everyone and take care.~

My alarm clock in the dark. Time is jumping away...

Time is dripping...

Time is going sideways...kinda even looks like it's falling down the rabbit hole....

My old photos on the wall...they look a bit creepy...

And the closer you get, the creepier...

Gloomy Bear!!!

My painting and a crucifix from the Mexican store downtown...

My two shelves of toys above my bed....blurry.....Living Dead Dolls get the shelf closest to the ceiling...random toys go on the shelf below...
Adios amigos~

A paperweight, Bruised Girl, and night time pics

Here is a paperweight. I'm not sure where I bought it from but I wish I would've bought a couple more. So I chose a picture that I really like (the band The Dead Weather) and I think it worked out well. I like that the pic has branches & such around the edges. So I think it worked very well inside the paperweight. Below is the paperweight in my hand. I think it's pretty big & quite heavy.

Below is the paperweight doing its job-holding my mess down. :)

Below is a last minute decision I made for the DAMNED II show. I made this a while back with no intention of it being for DAMNED. But I wanted to submit one more thing. So I did. And it's called Bruised Girl.

And next are a couple night time pics. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy your weekend. I'm going to the Reniassance Festival tomorrow. I don't plan to take any pics though. I've been several times before and have more than enough pics from there. I just want to relax and check things out with my friend tomorrow. Take care~

Experimenting With Light *Pic Heavy*

Hi friends. How are you? I'm fine. So tomorrow is the BIG day...the day we're actually going to MicroCenter to build our new desktop. Wooohooo-been waiting for this day for a while, so hopefully our roomie will stick to his word. No more crappy mouse or how crappy this computer works with Blogger-yay! Very excited about that. So I was going to do a post on some lovely gifts I got lately-mainly from the Queen of Clearance and my friend from work, Karen, but I opted to save that because I was experimenting with my camera last night. Sorry guys...I will post those at a later time.

So the pictures you will see below are a 'photo shoot' I did with my camera before bed (and yes, I did not leave my bed while taking these pictures, ha ha). I was messing around with the night time and twilight light settings. And these pictures are in order of the way I took them too. Of course I can NEVER just pick a few, so all 16 I think, are here. So hope you enjoy my experiment with light! And hopefully we'll be getting our computer tomorrow....(Hope for me!)

Enjoy your weekend everyone~

The first picture I took that made me want to mess around with the night time option.

That's the 'night light' above my bed. A Chococat rice paper lamp...I don't keep it on at bedtime. Just a bit before.

Yes, that's me...arm over face...

Bibi...

Bibi and me...

Chickie (Easter) Domo...he's on my light with the Valentine (Pink...Girl) Domo too...

Now for the twilight option....I didn't really care for it much...worked good on the above pic though...I had a few others but deleted 'em...the rest are all with the night time setting...

My plush Kuromi...

My BIG Gloomy Bear plush. He lays on my stereo cuz the way he was made doesn't let him sit up very well....

Small Gloomy Bear plush...hanging from my shelf...which is above my bed...

What you will see below are my two favorite pictures...taken by simply hitting the button, then moving the camera away in a very fast motion...everything runs together then...

I love taking pictures...and I especially like manipulating the camera...especially by not doing too much...just by a quick jolt of the camera...or moving it fast or slow or upside down or all around...;)
Oh and I'm back to moderating comments. Just a lil' FYI.
Thanks for looking at my light experiment~
